that is my take on it as well, Vott.

yeah well it is what it is.

I am glad you met some humble wp fans after the game. gives me hope. i sought them out to be friendly as well. they were right there around the Picayune tent. One of them told me " Picayune's alright, but ya'll don't play anyone down there. I don't think you will score a point against us." I could not change his mind that we had any chance at all. We talked about 10 minutes - mostly about West Point, of course. So, I asked if he would be there after the game so we can talk about the game. He said "hell yeah, I be here! You damned right I be here!" So i go straight there after the game, no hanging around in the stadium or anything, and camp is breaking down and they are beating feet to get out of there. I see him getting in his truck and I am calling his name, and he hears me. He turns his head and sees me not 10 feet away - then quickly turns his head back and would not look again. Couldn't even offer a handshake. Sat there looking away until his partner was ready and then just drove off. another cowardly bragger in a long list of them i have met so far from wp. I would never paint all WP fans with the same brush, but any crap I hand the nice ones on here, their fellow fans have paid for on their behalf in full. I have no doubt WP has the ability to right the ship - but i hope they don't.

Ban yourself please for that nasty LSU post in our beloved forum.

btw maybe they were bubblegum cigars. they still make those?

i want a cigar every time I see this topic. you subliminal-ed me.

yep. Poplarville and JDC fought to the very end. There is no give-up in those teams. we didn't give up either. maybe we just started too hot and burned most of the gas in the tank on the first half of the trip. At this point last year I was not sold either. Let's give them a while to get all their pieces in place and see what we get. with a little luck, I think they can be very good.

if that fork were a meat thermometer it would say "DONE". Nothing against their program, but as long as they are producing the type of bologna fans they have I am gonna keep dogging them . West Point is on an 0-3 streak that many say is really 0-4.
-
bryan's gone, but west point is still bologna king.

If he were at a school concerned with having a winning football program I would say yes.

I agree it poses a new challenge we must rise to.

fortunately this is a Picayune team that can cover. Spread does not worry me much (as far as the passing game is concerned). refs tossing flags for def PI when the defender has position, is turned toward and making a play for the ball worry me more because i see it all the time. If the qb prefers to pass from an upright position he's gonna have to unload quick most times. and it just might mean 6 for us if we start hanging onto a few more when we jump a route. now with regard to spreading us out and running it with a good back who capable of taking full advantage -that can be a problem. It also means you have fewer guys to block so you will be meeting #11 and #29 on occasion. seriously though, for me, I am still trying to size up our lbs re consistent play. will let you know after Gulfport and I see how they handle it.

i am a bulldog fan anytime we are not playing them. If sending one of my kids to school there did not do it , well is not gonna happen. I bought season football tickets for all of their home games during her tenure there. Thank God that is over. I still feel sick from the cow bells. To explain my aversion to that implement - I am sure you know that a lot of Maroon Tide fans adopted cow bells and have recently been using them in big games. I was offered one for free as a gift and refused it for health reasons. That's just the sort of thing that is gonna drive me away one day.

put me down for WH at #4. Just have this hunch it's about to get weird around here.
-
Gulfport usually can put up points, but I will be surprised if they score 24 on us.
-
well i am a long time Ole Miss fan, and I have seen it all, so it doesn't seem farfetched to me. Let's see how they do this next game and we will have a clearer picture. Maybe all the new (portal) pieces still have jelling to do before we get the right fit.

There was very little to offer hope in the Troy game. Let's hope it was a first game thing - otherwise, we have taken a big step back. 5 wins.
-
That has concerned me as well. I think we will be ready and I think we will handle Gulfport. 1) play the 2nd half like the first 2) make the short kicks/PATs that we used to 3) pitch to the rbs on target and on time If we do that we will be hard to beat

your top 10 has 70 teams in it. how about a top 10?
-
They have lost there last 3 games.
-
no kidding. what a great read.

ot: but it was great seeing the game john rhys plumlee had today. he went off i hate he had to leave ole miss to do it. dart has not impressed me at all. -
#4 scored 2 tds last night at bassfield - 1 receiving and 1 rushing. i would like to see him return a kickoff. shifty guys like him do well returning kickoffs. big brother was injured and did not dress out.
