Will it? They lost a lot of talent last year. I know it pays well but they don't return much talent outside of their QB. They are moving up to 6A and have to play Warren Central, Neshoba Central, and Vicksburg in district. It has been watered down a little bit overall but I don't see them being very good for awhile. Last year was their year to be good to great and they didn't make the playoffs.

Not just anyone can go 28-2 and win 2 state titles, Scott Central lost in the 3rd round the year before with most of the same kids and arguably more talent than what they had the year they went 15-0. I've seen plenty of guys screw up good situations loaded with talent. Look at Holmes County Central every year, look at Ridgeland and Vicksburg this year, Brandon and Starkville both have seen years that they are loaded and not won it I can point to every team on the Coast that has been loaded and blown it. Why didn't Oxford make the playoffs with all of that talent they had? Bad take man.

Good hire by OS as long as Dubose isnt just using this as a retirement home he will win games.

Seems like this was always gonna be the case if they do indeed hire Bramlett and he may do really well there. I guess they just had to do some courtesy interviews.

Will it be announced tomorrow? You don’t think the assistants would stay if another candidate was hired? Will some of them come to Gulfport? I assume Bramlett Will go after another head job if he doesn’t land this one?

I wouldn’t go with a guy who’s never been a head coach for that big of a job but that’s just me he might do really well.

Looking at his history he’s a winner! Took over Raleigh when they had missed the playoffs several years in a row. His first 3 years there they went 2nd rd, 3rd rd, South State. 2017-18 goes to FCAHS and wins 6 games year 1, they didn’t win 6 games again until this season. Clinton had some good years while he was there as OC, they made it to North State his last year there. Now he’s 28-2 at Scott with 2 state championships.

With 2 months in they still feel like they need to do 3 more rounds of interviews and a hire should be made in time for summer workouts! In all seriousness just hire Bramlett at this point they've drug it out so long.

The top 3 are so far ahead of the 2nd tier. Raleigh will cruise to a 1 seed and the Bay S and SC district will be decided the 1st district game when they play each other.

They will be fine 2A is not very competitive right now. You got Scott Central and Raleigh to compete with in the south unless somebody else takes a huge jump. Charleston and Calhoun City will be good in the North.

Raleigh? They just lost their heart and soul on both sides of the ball and the other back that took some of the load off of him! They will win that district but that's about it.

Why so defensive? I'm sure he's a good coach but there are much better options available.

Man surely somebody can bring that program back to being competitive at least.
