Late night and a game that seemed to last forever. Great game to watch in a weird way as Tib said. I almost packed my bags and left at least 5 times. Glad I didn’t. WC has a solid club and played really hard. Excellent coaching! Toughest game in that series in quite awhile. We really need our top player Aborom back. With he and Slay out both games in the secondary it has been a s^ht$how at best back there. Obviously without Aborom at WR we have been limited. AJ is struggling at QB in the passing game from a consistency standpoint but in all fairness this was only his second start for OG. When he hits the mark the receivers are not catching the ball on the long plays. He will get better with experience. We are a long way from beating the Brandons and Madison Centrals right now!

There is no doubt that WC will have their hands full Friday night. Will there be an upset I don’t think so. Too much talent on the field for OG. Looks like the rain will not be a factor and playing on the nice turf field at WC will be a lot better. If WC can keep the game to within 2 TDs then in my mind a good one for WC and more unanswered questions for OG.

Not taking anything from Greenville Christian last year because they were really good but in my mind because of not doing these things and coming into that game only playing Seminary and a not so good Hattiesburg team we were not ready for that battle. If we played them later in the year I think it would have been a different outcome. OG was without a couple good players last week that impacted the game. Aborom was out which is one of the best on both sides of the ball. Don’t know if that was due to injury or discipline. We will see. What I do know is if the OG offense doesn’t improve we are not a great team. Our play calling was terrible. I really don’t understand that regardless of the fact that these early games are not regional games. We will learn more on Friday night!

That HHS fumble at the end obviously was the difference in winning or losing that game. Hate that for Hattiesburg! HHS played a helluva game with the QB injuries none the less. Next few weeks will not be good for the Tigers but will help them during regional play no doubt. Hope they keep positive vibes following those games. My question is will either QB be able to return soon?

If Harrison Central scores 24 or more against Oak Grove I will be way wrong on our D. I guess it is possible if we pull starters early.

Heck of game. OG quarterback Kirk McCarty now pitches for the Cleveland Guardians in the MLB. Got a win last week on the road at Red Sox. Another win last night. Lots of talent on that field back in 2013.

Agree. But what took Brandon to the chip last year was their really good D IMO.

D starts with the DL. We have 4 grown men up there that IMO should be D1 players before it’s said and done. Add that to the experience and stars already in the back and it sets up nicely. I don’t believe teams will score those numbers this year.

Agree. This may be the best OG team in the last few years. Best D ever at OG. Great D teams have success as those from the North would tell you.
