This will be followed by the Class 3A Championship which will feature Central Holmes Christian School vs Canton Academy at 3:00 p.m. The last game of the evening will be the Class 5A Championship Game which will feature Oak Forest Academy vs Simpson Academy at 7:00 p.m. Our final game of the week, the Class 6A Championship, will be played at Mississippi College on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and will feature Jackson Prep vs MRA. This game will also be broadcast locally on WAPT / MeTV (Channel 16.2)

Clearly EHS wasn't as good as last year, either. Lost to Magee this year, won last year.

Which might lend credence to the idea that they'll be playing an independent schedule, yeah? I haven't called them yet but they might be starting off with Jr Hi - who knows? I think it's great that they're starting a football program of any sort - wish Laurel Christian and Lamar Christian would, too.

Guess they thought the better of it since they're still in the MAIS. I would assume they're going to play an independent 8-man schedule, but I expect more information will be coming along.

Campaigning on a message board for someone to get fired and another hired in their place is rather immature and certainly an underhanded thing to do, not to mention how easy it is to read between the lines and make accurate assumptions on who is likely doing the posting. There are only a handful of folks so close to the program that they knew, in 2018, the status of a particular injured player down to specifying the exact nature of the injury, and the reason he was not played in a particular game... that kinda narrows it down, doesn't it? Might want to back it up and reconsider whether airing this stuff out on MST is in anyone's best interest.

I think they have something like 50-60 kids in HS. Joining MHSAA would doom any chances of athletic competitiveness.

Stone County had a really bad game against N. Pike - held NP to under 100 total offensive yards but let them stick around with interceptions and uncharacteristic OL play (13 sacks). Most teams have an aberrant game now and then & last week was sure enough one of those for the Tomcats. Hopefully they play a better game with Poplarville, or it won't be pretty.
