It’s a fair point any coast program can be just as good as the teams in region 3 when they take it serious. Moss Point dominated for years when they would eat sleep and breathe football. The community and the school has to really want it.

You know its a tough job if Bobby Hall got tired of it and just quit after 3yrs.

21 years ago, following consecutive 1-10, 0-11, and 1-9 seasons, the Ocean Springs community having had enough of being a colossal embarrassment, rallied and demanded accountability and higher expectations. 2 years later they reached the state title game. They've had 3 losing seasons since (and sent that coach packing for diminishing results later in his tenure). It's obvious there was a similar sentiment (probably by a smaller contingent) in Gulfport after another mediocre finish in 2022 -- they would never have poached another highly successful coach if not. Perhaps Biloxi wants to prioritize football in a way it hasn't in more than 50 years.

That's a great assessment and he still made 3 seed Don't know whose decision this was but not a fan of it. French was a good coach and a good man for that program.

It's 2023 (soon to be 2024). Football has been around for a long, long time. Are they just now getting an e-mail address with the interwebs to go along with it? Have they been using a fax machine and a Ron Polk typewriter this whole time or what?
