Columbia is a great football team. I fully expected them to run circles around Petal and they did so. Petal losing to Columbia wasn't an unexpected thing there, so to say that Petal underperformed by losing to a better football team is kind of a stretch. Now if Petal loses to a team they are supposed to beat like a drum, then yes they will have underperformed.2 points

I think if we’re talking about a team over performing expectations, you’ve got to start with Madison Central. Their opening schedule had them beating Ocean Springs and Brandon, last year’s top two in the south, and then beating a good Gulfport team down there. They seem young and defense oriented, but are improving every game, and could actually make some noise with an upset or two when they see Starkville and Tupelo.1 point

Clarksdale seems to be under coached every year. Shannon and Nettleton both have weapons at all 3 levels. I have bee impressed with Nettletons QB thus far. Nettleton will win a lot of games if he keeps taking the snaps1 point
