  2. So how people have always said when smaller schools schedule schools that are 2 to 3 classes above them it’s to prepare them for region play and playoffs, that’s not making them better? ETA: I think your comment is a bit of a knee jerk reaction. Almost every year, teams like Tupelo, Oak Grove, Brandon just to name a few will field more future college players than any MAIS schools. Teams like JA this year come around every so often like Greenville Christian a few years ago which was a different circumstance and even that team which as of now is the best MAIS school of all time had a battle with Oak Grove. Just this year MRA/JDC was a dang good game and was nothing like 9th/10th graders playing junior college players.
  3. Wammie you know the country isn’t going to give us any respect even if Louisville rubs the floor with JC which I personally hope happens.
  4. I have been hearing this a lot and given history Seminary fields a heck of a football team.
  5. I have watched a little of petal this season. .Petal will score. Coach Boyles is gonna do that even he has to leave the defense withnot really that much to play with. That seems to be the case of yet another season. I don’t know a thing about Columbia. I know they are defending champ. If they’re offense, can’t put up some points against the red panther defense that’s not a good sign.
  6. We talking about private schools brother bert. Long term how do you feel about it ?

  9. Part of me thinks the only thing we’ll learn from the Louisville/ John Curtis game is whether Louisville should be ranked in the top 25 nationally after it. I think they’re playing with house money after how John Curtis played North Shore last week. If they lose then oh well it’s against basically a top 40 team nationally. The other part of me thinks with a win the country should view Louisville as a top 25 team. I started writing this post by saying we won’t really learn anything from this game and then I added this part because I think John Curtis wins but WHAT IF?!?!
  10. Some MHSAA schools don't want to play MHSAA now aka Bay Springs/Forest not playing. Bay Springs excuse was our players get hurt vs Raleigh.
  11. Their best bet is to score from 20 yards out. Last year Raleigh got flag after and scored but it was called back inside the 15.
  12. Our heralded ninth grade team read their press clippings last night instead of showing up for a football game. IDK know the final score but Petal slapped them around hard. Petal probably played jalf their varsity but we should beat them too
  13. I have to admit I did not watch any of USM-Alcorn so I don’t really know what to make of USM. I assume Alcorn is still terrible though and even if I watched that game I wouldn’t have learned much. Auburn didn’t look very good in Week 1 but I’m high on Golesh and think their offense will probably be boom or bust this year. Last week was kind of a bust, so I worry that this is a get right game for them. 32 is a big number though.
  14. Don’t be surprised to see Seminary beat Diberville. I think they are the most disrespected team in the South
  15. Dub, Picayune is battle annihilated, so I reckon y'all might be in a better position LOL.
  16. Auburn favored by 32 over USM. Do they cover?
  17. OG is more battle tested. I think that will go a long way. If they don’t start slow.
  18. Ole Miss by 21? Aren’t they like a 50 point favorite? lol. What do you know that we don’t? Charlotte is fresh off a loss to The Citadel.
  19. I hope MSU takes it but I think Minnesota takes it by 10 Not a fan of either but I guess I have to pull for Texas Hope OU rolls by 35 over Michigan Arizona State in a close one Bama by 14 Ole Miss by 21
  20. I am not sure. I saw some highlights on one of their players and it kind of looked like JJ McClain?
  21. State at Minnesota in a massive game for State. I’ve seen the spread in both teams’ favor within a point or two, so it’s basically a pick em. Major contrast of styles here. State wants to open it up and let their athletes run wild on offense. Minnesota wants to play sound defense, hold onto the ball, and force State to make mistakes. Minnesota’s strength appears to be at the LOS, so we will find out just how much improvement State made on both sides of the line. Big moment for Kamario too, first true road start and it’s against a team that’s been good at home. I feel like there’s such a fine line with this game for State. Win and there’s a lot of optimism moving forward. Lose and I think a lot of people will be ready to assume Lebby won’t make it to next season. I think this is a tight game but I like State’s chances here. I think they can turn it into enough of a track meet that Minnesota can’t quite keep up in. have State taking this one 31-24. Ohio State at Texas - massive game Saturday night in Austin. Big moment for Arch Manning. But I have a little bit more confidence in the Buckeyes here. Ohio State takes it. Oklahoma at Michigan - I have OU rolling in this one. Arizona State at Texas A&M - maybe a crazy pick here, but I have the Sun Devils stealing one on the road here. Call me an A&M skeptic I guess. Bama at Kentucky - dangerous game here for Bama, Lexington has turned into a weird place to play in the last decade. I’ll pick Bama but I think it’s close. There are other interesting games too that we can discuss as well…. Ole Miss vs Charlotte isn’t one of them. The calm before the storm on September 19.
  22. You are correct sir. I'd agree whole-heartedly if the MHSAA came out and said you can not schedule MAIS teams if you are MHSAA
  23. That is true, but at least they are having to hide it a little bit because they know if they get caught red-handed they could face punishment. The bigger private schools aren’t even trying to hide it because they don’t have to. it makes the gap too wide talent wise for it to be functional anymore
  24. I don’t care if they have been in there since moses wore short pants they have to follow the same rules. Hauling Anthony Dixon from Terry up to Madison Academy every day then over to Newton on Friday night to run through a bunch of tenth graders isn’t a just thing for the public school students. Nip it in the bud now before it ruins all of it
  25. But what do you do when some private schools are a part of the MHSAA and have been in the MHSAA since they became a school
