First off, let me say, coach Feaster , his team, the PRC faithful all class man… They approach the game the way it’s supposed to be done. I can’t say about any improvements PRC should focus on because I don’t know how they looked last season. What Pound has done with our offense in just a couple of months is miraculous. It resembles nothing like that stale loaf of bread. We were forced to watch the last few years. There’s a lot to work on. A lot of those kids had never played a snap on varsity. They need to catch better, but that will come. They are handful now and will only improve going forward The defense needs depth and experience. They got handled by an experienced offense. To anybody that pays attention that’s coming too. Our freshman defensive line is filthy. I expect them to be worked in soon. Wayne County has their fight back. Most people thought that game was over. The way they went down that field in a minute or less I’m not exact on the time, but it wouldn’t much looked like old times. We were a two point conversion away from winning it. We’ve been missing that fight. By seasons end, neither team will probably even remember this game. I expect to give some so-called favorites in 5A south a run for their money and maybe even break a few hearts. I’m excited.

It was a decent game. OG had several chances to win it. Having the jamboree get cancelled last week certainly didn’t help and they didn’t look as good out the gate as I thought they would with so many seniors. Will be interesting to see if they bounce back against a really good Germantown team.

I listened to some of the MRA game up in Tennessee on the radio driving home from work last Friday. I believe they are not as good this year.

The only real surprises for me last night was JDC almost beating MRA and Enterprise Lincoln beating North Forrest.

I have been telling people Enterprise had most of last year's team coming back and we would be better; I think we have a legitimate shot at going 4-0: Stringer is probably the best team we'll play until South Jones.

50 in season opener to MC in 2022, then only allowed 3 teams to score over 20 (no more than 28) the rest of the season.

Wests offense was fine. They moved the ball practically at will till they got inside the Laurel 30. Then got mired in penalties. Still scored enough. It was the defense and defensive penalties that killed them.

Didn't say he wasn't a problem, said there might have been a bigger problem than him. I can't recall a WJ defense giving up 56 before. Sounds like the mentality has gotten weak in Soso.

Did yall go up 35-14 with about a minute left till halftime. Only to watch the other team score 4 td’s of over 70 yards in what looked to be the exact same play every time, untouched, cause your defender on that side was afraid of contact.

Can you imagine corey Reynolds after this game? His chin is stuck jutted out the size of kirk douglas.

Reynolds was a problem and needed to go before the 24 season. You dont do the things he was doing or saying to kids and keep your job. That’s all I’m saying about that,

You know who else didn’t. The defensive end., middle lb, outside lb, nor corner on the right side of wests defense. Laurel saw something and kept doing it and west never tried to change anything to stop it. I’m so mad I could pour kerosene on wests new turf and ignite it. west had as many penalty yards as Laurel had 3rd quarter offensive yards. Which is a lot. How west did not get the safety when Laurel, facing 1st and 20 from their 5, qb scrambled into endzone and looked to step out of the back of it, was touched by 3 west defenders, and somehow got them out to 15? Then in second down hit to the original line. Then in 3rd get 2 yards. Seemingly sending out punt unit then, not, because down market said “3” and bust open a 80 yard td on what should have been a punt.

Trudat.

That's a far cry from WJ winning by 20+ and Pierson taking his foot off the gas. Maybe the problem was bigger than Reynolds.

Ughh. This win for laurel just mucks things up. Kinda like that patch of lawn grass that was missed. It doesn’t fit . You want to fix it .

I got to eat some crow on Starkville and Oak Grove. To travel down there and win a game that close that showed you serious and sends a message. Matter of fact, I’m done saying how games will go for a while. Going back to the playoffs last season every game I felt reasonably sure on how the outcome would play out. I’ve been wrong.
