Predicted Prep Football Scores For 09/11/2026

Don’t think NC will beat WL 55-6. Neshoba should win handily but that is a rivalry and I figure West Lauderdale will play better. And Neshoba will have a let down after beating Meridian While Starkville will beat Meridian I don’t think it will be 47-16. I think Meridian will rebound from the disappointing loss at Neshoba and play a much better game this Friday night. -
Yes I agree, Meridian is much better in all aspects than last year but they were historical bad last year with zero coaching. They are still not back to competing for the district crown but maybe now they can compete for the 4th playoff spot.
-
Ocean Springs lost to Petal 43-21. I don’t think they are really bad this season but obviously they are rebuilding. Meridian is definitely improved but I feel like we are going to be inconsistent this year as the players get acclimated to Coach Vance. We could be world beaters one Friday night and then lose to the Little Sisters of the Poor the next Friday night.

In other words, Ocean Springs is really really bad this season?
-
Up north in 4A, IAHS is probably the biggest surprise for now. They handles Corinth friday and that indicates they are ahead of where most figured they would be .

Meridian kind of reminded me of State in Leach’s first year (2020). Went to Baton Rouge and beat the defending Champs (LSU) convincingly. Then promptly came home and lost to a mediocre Arkansas team. Now where Meridian is concerned, I do think we will improve from here. I will be interested in seeing how we play against Starkville. Obviously I don’t expect to win but if we can clean up some issues from this past Friday night and are competitive, I will feel better about the season going forward. We will see what happens.

And last night, you could tell he was cognizant of not getting hit. Several times he went out of bounds or slid down after a run. Honestly I think he was only tackled once the entire evening. Now granted it was ULM but still good overall. He had two bad passes. Which are going to happen. And two other times he just needed a bit more touch on the pass. But I am nitpicking here because he was just plain good and the ceiling for him is the sky. Defensively we were very vanilla but that was all that was needed. Their TD was just a busted assignment, simple as that. Again nobody is going to be perfect. Now the season really starts at Minnesota. Let’s Go Dawgs!!!

I’ve been thinking since the egg bowl game last year that Kamario is the most talented Wide Choice (Vear & Shoot) QB that we’ve ever seen in cfb. The big thing for him is staying healthy this year. He’s pretty slippery and doesn’t take big hits though, a lot like Lamar Jackson in that regard
-
Well fans definitely know what they are talking about, so Picayune’s coaching staff needs to listen to them and do exactly what the fans say they need to be doing.

Leake High School vs Vicksburg suspended due to power outage

Region games in week 2? -
When you say play calling do you mean a few more pass plays?
-
No it wasn’t close. JA was really good. Picayune was able to score this week, but Picayune was never really in the ballgame.
-
Not exactly. Ive seen 2 sometimes 3 tds scored with 6 minutes. All it takes is a turnover or getting an onside kick and you've scored twice within say 5 minutes
-
Was this game ever really close? I think the early turnovers against Gulfport really changed that game but what happened this week? Is JA really that good!?
-
State looked like you are supposed to look like against an inferior opponent. Overall, a good night. We will have a better sense of how good we really are after the game at Minnesota. Really has the makings of a good game. LSU just took Clemmie about behind the woodshed for an old fashioned a** whooping.

Back home from Davis Wade. The final tally on concession stand trips for the 4 year old only ended up being three trips…. But we also left after the bands played at halftime lol. Kamario Taylor is the most talented QB that State has had in my lifetime. He’s not the best QB yet, but he could become that. I love Dak Prescott and it will be extremely hard for Kamario to ever surpass what Dak did at State…. But 2013-2015 Dak Prescott did not have the raw physical tools that Kamario has. That being said, he is still raw. Gaudy numbers tonight but did have some iffy moments that I saw. He’s got a big challenge coming up the next few weeks. State goes from playing what might be the worst team in FBS to playing exclusively very tough games for just about the rest of the season. But man am I excited to watch this dude play. He is extremely fun to watch. I thought State’s OL looked a lot better tonight, obviously will have bigger tests coming up. I thought the defense was just OK, but hard to tell if they were intentionally being vanilla. It didn’t seem like you saw a lot of the trademark Arnett blitzing, but also didn’t think State’s DL had just a great game. Not much penetration or much doing from a TFL standpoint. We’ll see what next week brings. I was raised on watching State teams that had no offense whatsoever, so looking at the box score and seeing 62 points and 762 yards against an FBS opponent, that’s pretty darn cool, even if not against good competition.
-
Taylor is a legit potential star. I hope State can keep him healthy and win enough to keep him in Starkville. Dabo will not last the whole season, although LSU has looked really good on both sides of the ball.

LSU is making Clemson look like UTEP Dabo's last season

Leake High School vs Vicksburg suspended due to power outage
maroontide06 replied to cstevens4's topic in Football
Really? That should be enough to call it. -
Vicksburg High's Region 2-5A opener against Leake High on Friday was suspended because of a power outage midway through the fourth quarter, and will be completed at a later date. Leake High was up 34-18 with little less than 6 mins to go in the 4th quarter.

Plus going to get an angry motivated John Curtis team that last night let a game slip away from them in the 4th against nationally ranked North Shore who is arguably the 2nd best team in Texas. Penalties killed a drive for John Curtis late in the 4th that would’ve given them the lead. -

Both things can be true that they are improved and getting better but also have a ways to go toward consistency.

Some of the bigger schools are basically like JUCO's now. They're bringing in players from across their metropolitan areas, MAIS and MHSAA.

Well first off. Picayune just played 2 damn good football teams. JA is most probably the best high school football team i have ever seen play. They are 300 plus across the oline very balanced and well coached. Picayune was very over matched and never quit they got heart. Picayune oline and qb are very young and green but they are going to get better. I saw they started using some of the other running backs and running the power and sweeps more in the second half and it was working way better than going inside. IMO Dennis is a great rb but he looks off right now maybe he he isn't being patient and finding the hole idk. Everything needs work right now including coaching IMO offense play calling needs work doesn't look like any strategy to set up the defenses at all.
