  1. Past hour
  2. Certainly glad to see Meridian 47, Ocean Springs 9 instead of Ocean Springs 30, Meridian 14.
  3. Well if Meridian can build on last night’s blow out of Ocean Springs, some of the old gang may find their way back here. I am pleasantly surprised. I knew he would improve the program but I was not sure how fast we would see results. Obviously it is just one game but boy it sure does feel good to get a big win on the road against a really good team.
  4. CC, You are probably right about Wells case. Watching the game, it appeared that OS may have been overconfident and Meridian punched them in the nose early on and they never recovered. And Meridian appeared to be in much better physical shape than OS. Coach Vance definitely has made it clear that he wants to “Restore the Roar” in Ray Stadium. Hopefully these players will build on this win to do just that.
  5. Today
  6. 1) Meridian has always had athletes but it takes the right motivator to make them want to care about football. 2) Vance is that Motivator, He especially knows how to get the most out of the black players. He relates to them in a special way. 3) The players looked very much in game shape, much more than the Ocean Springs players. 4) I'm not from the coast but I can't imagine the Wells case had much to do with this game. He had already graduated plus most of the uproar came from outside the State. 5) This blowout is exactly what this downtrodden program needed to make the players even more motivated and willing to work harder and follow Vance's direction.
  7. We still had a lot of mistakes and we will need to clean up some penalties but it does feel good to get a big win. Ocean Springs , I am sure has been hurt by all the distractions swirling around about Nolan Wells. No doubt it has affected the football team. That is a shame.
  8. The last statement is the only good thing I got out of that because it they do play seminary next week, and most of their team was there including coaches
  9. No confidence in receivers, no confidence in qb throwing, no confidence in line blocking or holding back not showing hand for future opponent.
  10. Baldwyn beat Kossuth 28-13
  11. Well that’s good, because running the ball is the most crucial part of any offense. I watched them last week. They ain’t gonna be able to throw the ball very much. If they can establish their run game, they can do well cone district play.
  12. It’s Tony Vance and I’m gonna give credit to the kids for buying in but Vance resume speaks for itself. He just gotta add some more rings to it
  13. Northeast Jones 21 South Jones 36 10:11 remaining. Nej had 2 good looking drives where qb gave the ball away
  14. Man i think Tony Vance even just after one game have Meridian trending in the right direction! Whether Ocean Springs have fell off or not 47-9 win is big for a program that only won 2 games last year winning one of the those by 1 and the other by 2! I definitely think they’ll be relevant this year
  15. Is Meridian back???? Or has Ocean Springs fell off a cliff??? Either way, pretty good ass kicking down there.
  16. Meridian 47 Ocean Springs 9 Tony Vance might be just what Meridian needed to atleast get back to relevancy
  17. I didn't get that move either .
  18. They did. Converted 4th and 5 and then fumbled the ball on the 3. They would have been set up 1st and goal from the 3 with 1:55 to play. Madison takes it 97 yards in 3 plays to make it 17-7 and then pearl fumbled the Kickoff.
  19. South jones had 3rd and about 24 from inside their own 15. Rb took handoff running left, broke a tackle around the hash, spun and went all the way to right sideline and untouched from first missed tackle went over 80 yards to basically end this game. Northeast Jones 15 South Jones 36 2:35 left in 3rd
  20. I understand that but you won’t get anywhere running the ball on 3rd & long in scoring position. Same thing that happened last year
  21. Pearl probably just blew the game
  22. Pearl fumbles on the 3 going in with 2 minutes left. WOW! What a heartbreaker for them.
  23. Rest assure there’s gonna be more than a handful that don’t look so good this first week and by the end of the season will be a threat. That’s the thing about these little regions. You don’t really have to be on your game until the last five or six weeks of regular season. Meridian looks cut and in shape too. You can tell Vance has been running their tails off in this heat.
  24. I heard Laurel actually moved the ball pretty well last week but just turned it over. And WJ did just give up 21 in a half against seminary
  25. Sumrall 39 Collins 0 Will be a long season for Collins, coaches are committed to the run no matter the situation
