  2. Hearing Blake Pennock is a name to keep an eye on here.
  3. Today
  4. North 7A - Tupelo 6A - Warren Central or Lake Cormorant ------ I only say this as a possibility because Lake Cormorant is beyond talented defensively probably second to only Tupelo and its close from a sheer talent perspective which is absolutely crazy to say considering Tupelo is a travel ball squad. Lake Cormorant rotates 6 Defensive Linemen that all look like identical twins that are 6'3-6'5 250. If you haven't seen the talent they have on the defensive side of the football it is an injustice. They have 5-6 legitimate division 1 football players anchored by 2027 Eric Vaulx DE and Rashod Bobo LB - Florida State Commit and Western Kentucky Commit respectively and 2028 Ty'Jah Brown DL - Uncommitted but holds multiple offers from SEC schools. In the 2029 class they have Jaden McGregory CB that holds Ole Miss and Arkansas offers and Khalil Sims a 6'5 240 DE with a Florida State offer). To have that much talent on one side of the football is insane! There are other players that will be recruited but are not being recruited yet. They have other players that I expect to get offers QB - Curtis Shields will be a DB at next level. Also an OLB and WR. 5A - Put name in a hat and leave West Point out. 4A - LOUISVILLE 3A - WINONA 2A - KEMPER COUNTY 1A - I have no idea
  5. The MAIS Varsity Voices guys recap Week 9 and preview Week 10.
  6. Week 8 Recap from Varsity Voices ON THIS EPISODE Game of the Week — Petal 35, Brandon 34 in a windy, band-stopping thriller Oxford 27, Germantown 24 — the Chargers win in the trenches with the division on the line Upset Friday — Neshoba Central, Houston and Laurel hand Canton, Itawamba and Natchez their first losses Team of the Week — Richland 43, Mendenhall 35, the Rangers' first-ever win over the Tigers Player of the Week — Jordan Wally, D'Iberville: 464 total yards, 5 offensive TDs and a 95-yard pick six St. Martin sophomore Dawson Sullivan piles up 587 total yards and 6 TDs in a loss to D'Iberville Oak Grove escapes Meridian 21-20, and Senatobia holds Rosa Fort to 8 points Pass Christian's Paris Trevillion throws for 319 yards and 4 TDs in a 52-8 win over Moss Point 2A — Wesson blanks Amite County 9-0
  7. I think that may be the general consensus, but I feel like Brookhaven may be on a crash collision course with Wayne County. Natchez showed their true colors this past week against Laurel. If Natchez was as good as their record indicates, they wouldn't have lost to Laurel. For Natchez, that was a ripe apple that they needed to pick off the tree. I honestly think Wayne County is figuring things out and you can see the momentum building.
  8. Everyone up here in the north country agree with you on 7A and 6A. 5A north is still very muddled. Cleveland Central, Leake from Region 2 or could Lanier sneek in? In Region 1, My best guess is New Hope or Pontotoc but could Lafayette sneek in? I think any of these teams will lose to Brookhaven in the state final. Do most folks in the south feel like Ole Brook is the best 5A team in the south?
  9. Everyone starting to see the playoffs in the distance. Short and to the point Oak Grove is the best team in the south The last time I watched a coach fall to pieces as bad as the Brandon coach at Petal I don’t remember but I’m sure it’s happened. Vancleave doesn’t belong in 5A. I watched Kevin Fant go in and end Hattiesburg’s season a few yers ago. I thought he would be capable at a bigger school. I was wrong. He’s a poor man’s Lewis sims Seth will be a coach somewhere on the coast next season. PRC is on the verge of collapse since that debacle about Poplarville. Just sayin North Reps this season 7A Tupelo 6A Warren Central 5A ???? Hey Pine Belt social media sports guy. Quit repeating stuff I put on here Everyone have a good week
  10. Yesterday
  11. I’m surprised they didn’t let him finish out the season, but I reckon Avalon had a decision to make and wanted to start early before the carousel got in full swing. I believe they can get someone to turn it around quickly because that’s what Avalon will want.
  12. Herrington Lake is continuing to grow as a population area in Scott County their going 3A more than likely.
  13. Tennessee has the most favorable remaining schedule of any remaining playoff contender in the SEC, too. So naturally watch them lose to South Carolina this weekend.
  14. Holding Bama to 200 yards was very impressive.
  15. Seth is a first class man. I think he was too stuck in his ways recruiting certain types of players instead of going for guys that could help you win. I was told he was more focused on high character guys with minimal baggage who maybe were not as talented which at the college game, especially in JUCO, will get you beat. I think he recruited too safe in a lot of ways.
  16. Seth Smith resigns. Hopefully someone is hired that can recruit the area very well. Too much talent in the Hattiesburg and Pearl river co areas to not be competing for championships
  17. Definitely AI generated but they admitted they were just kinda going off last year. These rankings will shift dramatically before the year is out.
  18. I think Bamas loss was more Jim Knowles and his front 7 being lights out. Arguably the best defense in the nation after that game. If Heupel gets his Qb settled in, they’re certainly a national title contender
  19. Hancock isn't terrible either. They just need to find some defense. They've struggled with that since the Lightning shortened Jamboree against Columbia.
  20. They definitely were and are good enough. I have been saying it since the season started, this region is as wide open as it has ever been. I think every team is solid. Long Beach is proving to be no slouch. That defense does their jobs well and the offense keeps you off the field. Picayune/Long Beach game this Friday could be done by 8 pm. LOL
  21. If that's the case, they were good enough talent wise to beat Hancock and Gautier. Losing to them didn't help matters. Now their backs are against the wall.
  22. The crazy part is, PRC is good enough talent wise to win out the next 3 games. The next 3 weeks are going to be fun to keep up with in Region 4-6A
  23. Yesterday was one of those where three teams were coming off emotional rivalry games went into their games, thinking we got this. Florida picked up the pieces and Texas was still hung over from the RRSO. Georgia forgot that Auburn is technically their oldest rival and is the classic , you can throw out the records type game, plus they were due for a let down after the Bama game. Bama let Georgia beat them twice. Kind of received their own medicine along with the fact TSIO is also a rivalry game. This time Tennessee got to fire up the stogies. Plus KY carried their momentum over to an emotionally spent Okie team to pick up the win. So going forward I agree, I have no idea what will happen. This is a product of the new era of college football. Nobody will go undefeated and week to week you will have results like yesterday. The overall product on the field is worse which helps the mid level teams be able to beat an upper tier team more often in the present day.
  24. Vott

    Class 6a south 2026

A loss to goula they definitely out. They would for sure have to beat Picayune to get in and thats not happening two yrs in a row.
  25. I've seen Raleigh and seminary both play, ill have to give seminary the edge on being the more psychical team, they also have a little more speed, that being said ,its gonna be a good game and they each have ability to win! Seminary by 3!
  26. Last week
  27. If PRC can’t beat Goula this week, it will put them at 0-3 in district play and probably out of contention for a playoff spot. It won’t matter what they do to Long Beach because the games they needed to win, they didn’t.
  28. It seems like Texas has a lot of square pegs and round holes. Lots of talent that maybe doesn’t necessarily mesh together very well. I have no clue what to make of Auburn now. That was one of the more shocking SEC results of the last decade. I do like Golesh as a coach though, just didn’t think he had very much talent to work with this year. Seems like he is figuring out how to work within the group he has. But also if you told me they end up still finishing like 6-6 I wouldn’t be totally shocked.
