  1. Past hour
  2. I was really impressed with the way #22 played against Gautier. I know he hasn't played much this year at tailback, but he definitely provides a punch when you need to start going downhill to get a 1st down. I just hope we've got some passes we can throw and complete because right now our passing game is beyond graveyard dead. I don't think we attempted a single pass against Gautier.
  3. That “td” came late in the 4th. Prior to that, Meridian stalled out on 2 straight drives. OG was not the better team that night, meridian playcalling was questionable
  4. Today
  5. Well he's reinvigorated the team, fan base, and community. You can't really put a price on that and it's probably worth more than a win on the scoreboard. He took his lumps early and now you can see the reward of it.

    7A make up

Have you been told specifically about tupelo and oxford staying in region 1 or is this just speculation?
  7. I agree with you about the coach of the year. WC lost to PRC, GC, WJ in the last few seconds by a total of 10 points. So he’s not only a first year head coach with a really young team but he’s a few seconds away from having one loss.
  8. Home field wrapped up WC has shook the curse of Hathorne. NEJ is still under it. I don't know if there are any coach of the year awards but if there is my coach better be on it. Look at the margin of victory in these district games. Yes it's a sorry district . It doesn't change the fact that they have done exactly what was supposed to be done to every district foe. What about the officials in Purvis coach ?
  9. Director has the authority now to divide it by 7/5/5/7 so that changes things. Tupelo and Oxford may stay north this time around.
  10. be interesting to see if senatobia/greenwood or houston beat Kosy and then face Louisville
  11. Shannon is a very totally different team than that 2nd game against Louisville, Shannon learn a very good things about their self from that 28 pt blow out, that Louisville lost got themself playing whole lot better than that 2nd game
  12. 6 in every region is the most fair. Especially when it comes to playoffs. Tupelo and Oxford have switched out every 2 years between R1 and R2 to keep things even and equal. Same could happen for R3 and R4. Petal and OG have to travel north over an hour for every district game except each other (and even those 2 schools are 30 mins apart). Same for Madison Central & Germantown in R2. Honestly, 1-1.5 hours really isn’t that bad for the largest division in the State. It’s just not gonna be what these 1-3A distances are.
  13. maybe i was too fast on just handing Petal a playoff spot i just saw that it' a defacto playoff game . Winner in loser done for the season
  14. Having watched that livestream, Meridian definitely should not have won that game. In fact, OG should’ve had at least 1 more TD than the scoreboard showed after the ref made the crazy call in the endzone and nullified the pass reception with a minute left. It was clear the refs got tired of hearing Vance’s bellyaching on the sidelines in the 2nd half and quit calling things on Meridian just to hush the crybaby and keep him from running on the field & getting in their faces after every play. No doubt Meridian is better than their norm. But not necessarily an overall team improvement - it’s all Hill. Just like in 2023 with his older brother when Meridian went into playoffs as the R3 #4 seed. Went down to R4 #1 seed Ocean Springs and beat them, then went to OG in round 2 and lost. But R3 is generally & historically better than R4 anyway top to bottom. We’ll see if this year is an exception like last year was. It had been nearly a decade since someone other than Brandon or OG went to the ship from the South up until then
  15. Yesterday
  16. I see where East Mississippi opened up the job.
  17. Picayune will if Stogner starts calling plays. Picayunes OC sucks at play calling.
  18. Will East Mississippi or give it to the interim?
  19. With both Holmes CC and East MC CC coming open, gotta wonder if some successful high school coaches will be candidates for those.
  20. Any rumors to HS coaching departures? Voluntarily or other?
  21. In that scenario I would be hesitant to pick Petal. But I also wouldn’t bet against Boyles.
  22. We had plan to run it some. But piersons offense passes to open the run. Coaches saw very quickly that it was not going to be possible against that d line. Especially not with #10 still hobbled with nagging ankle issue.
  23. If petal is at Gulfport round 1 I would not pick petal. Gulfport will be out for absolute blood. Every team that went to petal and lost came out complaining to the high heavens about the officiating. A few that went to petal and won came out complaining about officiating.
  24. I've seen Louisville play and I truly believe that just about the only team in the north that can play with them is Kosciusko. I mean Shannon has been throwing around whoopings lately and they didn't even manage a point against Louisville when they played. In the first Louisville/Kozy game, Louisville jumped ahead early and Kozy had some uncharacteristic penalties that put their offense in bad situations, so that led to a 26-10 lead at halftime. BUT in the 2nd half, it was much more even with the scoring being 33-28. So yeah if Kosciusko can correct some of those penalty issues they had, should they meet a 2nd time, it could be closer. That said, if Louisville does get to State, out of the south, Poplarville could give them fits. Running that double wing could neutralize Coleman and Turner off the edge. Only other squad that maybe can hang with them would be Pass Christian, but they are VERY similar to Kosciusko offensively.
  25. If it plays out like this. Oak Grove vs Ocean Springs Brandon vs St Martin. Meridian vs Diberville and Gulfport vs Petal. Who are you taking to win
  26. In 2022 the regions were released on this day today, November 3rd
  27. Goes without saying….It’ll depend on matchups.
