Meridian has had better success vs Petal than Brandon or Oak Grove the past 10 years usually because they are more athletic. And I think that will be the case this year. If they can not beat themselves with dumb penalties or lapses in focus on plays they can definitely win this game. We would've beat Oak Grove if we had just made our extra points

Well moving Collins wouldn’t change that. The issue is with region 7. There is nowhere else you can put those teams. Those 6 teams will have to all be in one region. You can’t any of them anywhere else. Theres gonna have to be one region with 6 and another with 4.

Like i said though, one two hour bus ride isnt gonna be end of the world. Lol

That’s because yall have to. Collins isn’t in that predicament. Their furtherest drive they would have in the district I had them in would be 51 minutes to Perry central. That’s closer than Puckett or pelahatchie for them. I think the regions I drew out make the most sense, but the mhsaa doesn’t always use common sense

Teams in this area are driving 2.5 hours for a region game in Natchez. One long trip isnt that bad. Petal and oak Grove are driving twice every year 1:45 min to jackson area to play pearl brandon and nw rankin and also to Meridian

But it’s way too far from Scott central or Philadelphia. It’s almost 2 hours to Philadelphia

Move collins in the region with only 4 teams. Puckett and Pelahatchie aren't bad trips up 49

If I had to guess the 5a south regions would be this. This makes the most sense at least. Wayne County Laurel South Jones stone east central Vancleave Brookhaven Natchez north pike Florence provine vicksburg? I don’t know who fills that last spot. But since this makes the most sense it probably won’t happen

Man 2A south is gonna be kind of hard to district. There gonna have to be one region that’s just 4 teams

I was looking at that side of the bracket earlier! Really dont see any upsets! Its 3 teams that i think could come out and thats McComb, Poplarville or Pass Christian! I like McComb over Poplarville at South State tho! They were up huge against Poplarville in the regular season and let them come back! I think if they play again McComb has it all figured out it and seals the deal after being eliminated the last 2 years by Poplarville

5A region 3 is in for a bad time. They lost 2 teams in Sumrall and purvis. Now looking at maybe adding Vicksburg? Or maybe provine and or Murrah. Or Neshoba central. I would assume Laurel or South jones moves to region 4 to fill spot left by northeast jones. The other gets stuck with horrible travel that will have them crossing i20.

Georgraphically, pearl is just a tad farther north than Jim hill. And not all that far from neshoba central, maybe an hour. No sense to blow up region 3 like that for pearl dropping.

Just for a reply, would you rather have Pearl drop to Region 3 and have Jim Hill go north or Pearl go north and keep Jim Hill in region 3 for that for sure region win

Gulfport played one good team all year and lost to em. Nowhere near as battle tested as OG or Brandon. And Petal made them look silly for the better part of that game before they came back.

You're right about that. Everything South wise is the same except for Pearl dropping, but like Vott said someone could go North. We just don't know who that would be.
