  1. Past hour
  2. MHSAA once again establishes its credibility.
  3. Hattiesburg got their hands full next Friday night. PRC probably the best 4 seed in the state.
  4. Apparently people have asked and they already said no changes to playoffs. In all the boys’ sports Region 8 gets every team in to the playoffs. It’s an absolute joke.
  5. Yup. Gotta get that GATE MONEY lol
  6. Today
  7. Just a prediction. Laurel will have a change. I think they already have someone in mind. Heidelberg will also open up I bet.
  8. It might be interesting for the first q. It will get out of hand after that.
  9. A major joke! Its literally 2 winless teams in 1A that are playing in tonight’s playoffs! U have 2-3 win teams that are playing tonight as well! Years ago this would have never happened! A joke it is
  10. They need to definitely do away with Top 4 making playoffs but I know they won't.Ridiculous.
  11. Lumberton got absorbed into the Lamar County School District, so the kids that live in the North part of Pearl River County fall within the Lamar County School District since it got absorbed. The issue will arise if they ever close Lumberton because Poplarville School District doesn't want to lose those kids in the Northern part of the county. They would just want to keep the Pearl River County kids in Pearl River County and the Lamar County kids could go to Purvis. So to keep things from getting messy, they have to keep Lumberton open. I honestly think if they ever close Lumberton, everyone that falls within the old Lumberton School District would wind up going to Purvis anyway. That's a battle that I don't think Pearl River County would win.
  12. Tupelo and Oxford obviously have the most sway with Mr Neaves and the minions. Why can't other classes have a 7 team region and a 5 team region like they did with north 7A? There is no way any one of these individuals could speak and explain the reasoning and have it make any sense at all.
  13. I'm told that due to some schools being classified as minority districts that they can't be forced to consolidate with another school. Is this true?
  14. It’s bad, 7 classes does not work.
  15. IF Swann and Fluff are healthy enough to actually contribute then I like State. Hard to go against UM but I like GA Even without Toney I like Miami I'll also take Mizzou, TN and BYU
  16. 6 schools in Northeast Ms. They sent the western most team to Region 2. The western most team Coahoma County got sent to Region 3 along with surprise Winona. Leaving Noxubee and CC all along until they send 2 Lauderdale County schools north. Let's play switch a roo.
  17. Vott

    Class 7a South 2026

SM hasn't played the type of schedule Meridian has. Meridian is battle tested by playing Starkville Hattiesburg petal oak grove and Brandon. Meridian can win south state
  18. I’m interested in their matchup next week. St. Martin is sitting at 8-2 with a young team.
  19. The MHSAA are not real smart people. Really creating 4 team divisions and they will all make playoffs. What a joke!
  20. In Starkville for work this week so I got to slip over to the Hump last night and watch.State vs NW State. Good showing by the Dogs. Competition not very good, but anytime you win a game 82-44 you deserve at least some credit. They play Jackson State on Monday and then the season really gets going in a week. They’ve got a stretch of about six big games in a row beginning with Xavier that will determine a lot about what this team’s season can be.
  21. Yea I just skimmed through real quick and didn’t notice that. It appears they just picked schools out of a hat.
  22. try the new north tippah school which is in Walnut in region with north panola and independence when kossuth, alcorn central are a stones throw away. weird crap
  23. North Pontotoc and South Pontotoc being 15 mins apart but in different regions makes a lot of sense.
  24. This is a good, proactive move by the districts. Baldwyn, Nettleton, and Union are small districts spread across two counties as their towns are on the lines. Lumberton was as well years ago had a forced consolidation with Lamar County Schools. I think the students who were zoned for Lumberton but lived in Pearl River County were allowed to continue at Lumberton and did not move to PRC but I'm not 100% sure. Along with my many posts about the stupidity of 7 classes, I've been just as vocal about the need for district consolidation. There should be many more. District consolidation does not have to lead to local school closures just reduced administration and fewer school boards and taxation variances. Does it save a ton of money? Not necessarily that much in the big picture, but in a time of declining school enrollments and lack of adequate funds, this is mostly a good thing. I'd love to see more voluntarily make the move but it will likely be a fight in most communities.
  25. MHSAA posted them late yesterday.
  26. My brother in law told me about 12 years ago they like to switch schools from region to region everytime. They done a humdinger this time on 1A-4A. I expected it but not this much.
