I heard PCS was going back to MAIS. Maybe that’s not true, just what I heard rumored.

State sneaks into the AP Poll at number 24. First time ranked since the end of 2022. So it will be a ranked vs ranked matchup between State and Mizzou next week. I hope someone reminds Lebby of Drinkwitz’s antics at the end of the game in Starkville two years ago and if State’s offense is humming that he shows no mercy. Certainly a game Mizzou could still win but I think most State fans probably feel pretty good about their chances at home. I believe State is currently the betting favorite in that game.

Should have been 183 according to last years 8-10 grade numbers. Maybe everyone school is either turning in lower numbers for whatever reason. If that is the case then who knows how the Regions will end up being. If PCS, St Stanislaus, and St Patrick go 4A then Region 8 3A may end up being Tylertown, West Marion, Seminary, JDC, and either Raleigh or Magee.

Mize turned in 174. Solid 2A

Any more rumors especially the south. Right now I am looking at 16 3A schools in the south. I am adding Clarkdale, Sacred Heart(multiplier), and Lake. It's possible Mendenhall and Richland may drop to 3A. That's 13 schools sitting close to Region 5 and 6. 1 is probably going replace St Andrew's moving up because of the multiplier. Quite possibly Seminary and JDC move to Region 8. Quite possibly 1 moves north or 1 moves from north to South aka Noxubee, Louisville, or Yazoo County.

Wow. I was surprised they made that big of a jump. However, Indiana and Miami haven’t had any decent matchups yet, and OM already has 2 top 25 wins. I really thought Chambliss may take a step back this year with all the focus on him and the HC/OC gone, but he is just a playmaker. Very good passing from the pocket and great when he’s on the move.

I'm picking both heisman worthy QB's in Mississippi to lead their teams to victory next week. I'll go ahead and predict ESPN gameday in starkville on October 3rd as well.

No, Petal got lucky Gulfport had so many turnovers in the red zone. Petal never really had stopped Gulfport except for when the hit the turnovers. But props to Petal, at the end of the day they had to complete a 2 min drill and get the conversion and they executed. I was actually impressed with how Petal was able to score on back to back 2 point attempts

Both Ole Miss and Florida will be coming off emotional wins. Florida is at home. I think it will be a shoot out which favors Ole Miss. I think they will find a way to win it.

This week a bye would have come at a good time. Wont be a total surprise is Florida beats them next week.

Mize and Raleigh ain’t shrinking buddy. Heck mize is trying to keep people out because everybody wants to send their kids to school here. The only school that’s declining is Tville, which ironically is where the local industry has always been. People have talked about consolidating smith county schools for over 30 years. They even built Raleigh high school in a central location just for that reason in the mid 90’s. Unless the schools start struggling academically, and getting smaller in size, it’s not gonna happen. And while Tville has been struggling, Mize and Raleigh are not. Mize is considered one of the best schools in the entire state of Mississippi. You may eventually see Raleigh and Mize both absorb Tville, but you aren’t gonna see one central school anytime soon.

You have to understand Smith County to understand Smith County. They will never consolidate even if all 3 schools are 1A.

Kudos for Golding going for two, although I don’t think that they were really going for two on the the first play. But goaded LSU into jumping offsides and then a second time. Which made it easy after that.

Heidelberg 2025 had 8th-10th grades had 150. The smallest 3A Strayhorn had 214. A whole class had to fail the eleventh grade or eighth grade be promoted or some combination or percentage per class.

Here’s the deal with State and Ole Miss…. I’m not sure there are two QB’s in America playing better football than Kamario and Trinidad. When you have elite QB play, almost no game is unwinnable. You won’t win 100% of the time, but on your guy’s best day, nothing is off the table.

Ole Miss was America’s team tonight. Beating Georgia without Kiffin earlier this year and now this? What a time to be a rebel ran. Kamario had a rough start but it was expected for a young guy in a tough environment. We were already pretty thin at DT and Trevion’s injury looked season-ending. Happened last year to Whitson and his absence was definitely felt. Sucks to have that happen when the game was pretty much already over. Both teams are probably top 25. We may have a # next to our name tomorrow. Mizzou didn’t look great against Troy today, and they’re also without Ahmad Hardy so another very winnable game next week

Two 3-0 teams in Mississippi. OM I’m sure will be borderline Top 5 tomorrow, I think there’s a good chance you see State ranked too.

Third quarter was very bad for Ole Miss, at the end of the day very big win.

I think Kiffin thought he could turn him into a Heisman candidate like Chambliss. Big win for OM. I still think LSU is a work in progress. Kiffin will win big there. He didn’t walk into a polished machine like Golding. He just walked away from a polished machine for some reason. State was super impressive today. Second half defensive play making and the composure after being down early. They’ve been impressive.

They will simply consolidate into one school at Raleigh. They never do the right thing in Smith County. They don't want industry in Raleigh. That's why everyone works out of county.

Lying to yourself ain’t gonna solve anything. Is Smith County projected to grow by leaps and bounds over the next 15-20 years? What economic engine is projected to feed Mize, Taylorsville, and Raleigh over the next 15-20 years? Last time I checked, Smith County was pretty rural. If you can get something in Smith County that allows all 3 of those communities to grow and prosper, you can grow those schools individually. But what do you do if all 3 communities shrink within the next 15-20 years? I realize pride is a big thing, but if you truly do care about the future of Smith County then building a brand new school that the whole county can use and enjoy doesn’t sound too bad. Put it in a neutral location. I’m sure there’s options out there for that. Ask yourself this question. If Smith County doesn’t grow, what can be done to make things better?
