With a little over a month away from the opening week, I have no issue of starting a game thread this early. Thoughts on this one. Petal has got some playmakers returning as does Hattiesburg. But the OL for Hattiesburg is going to have to mature and develop quickly as no starter from the OL returns this season. Last yr game was ugly as HHS welcomed a brand new coaching staff and had new players playing as well as a key injury. Hopefully this years outcome is different.

you can never have too many pitchers. Just ask the Atlanta Braves. They had 7 start on the DL this season

I think if Enterprise was in region 5 or region 7 they would make the playoffs.

I agree. Either way they would have to get by the winner of region 6 in round 3, whether it’s Heidelberg or Mize. And regardless of who that is, that’s not gonna happen. It’s possible that Lake wouldn’t even make the playoffs if they were in region 6. Their entire region was swept in the first round last season.

Nice that everyone is counting Enterprise out; we will fly under the radar and surprise some folks.

Lake will finish #2 in their region, but the only way they would make it to South state would mean they have to beat Mize or Heidelberg in round 3. And that ain’t happening, not even close. Heck we were beating Lake at halftime 42-0 in the first round last season. Lake may wouldn’t even make the playoffs if they were in region 6.

Ole miss basically loses all pitchers not named hooks and elliott and must totally restock. Oconner and state have too many arms and will have decisions to be made in december as to who to keep and who to wave goodbye to.

I mean tupelo would have to be really stupid for neaves to get on to them. kinda like what happened with the williams qb when he transferred from Nettleton. Kid missed nearly all of the first year and then missed several games in alternative school last year due to fighting a teammate in the jamboree. He was also a mental case and almost not coachable at times. I think Tupelo is being very careful in the current transfer environment now. They have excellent coaching and players on D but their O will tell the tale of how good and how far they go again this year.

It would have to be pretty blatant and stupid for ricky neaves to discipline tupelo in any way. They have kids already penciled in to move following the next school year.

I don’t think so I believe that’s just something different for social media and media in general. Lampley wore that WC on his helmet he knows it’s tradition and he’s working hard to bring back tradition. The turf was all done by the old administration and who knows what they had in mind doing. That interlocking WC is part of this community it would be a huge mistake. I remember a couple of years ago Coach Hankins had the guys in plain white helmets no decals. He told them that they had to earn them. Really a great old school approach but man the people around got upset lol.
