Every region is north with 5 schools is not possible with 7 classes.
-
Maybe Kosciusko to Region 4 and West Lauderdale to Region 5. 3A and 4A has less teams in the Delta and more teams on the east side of the state.

Should High School Football adopt the College Overtime Rule

And don't need this go for two after like the third OT like Auburn and Bama did a few years back. -

I agree but sometimes change happens. Maybe like college after the first OT you have to go for two. -
Back to the drawing board on this one. North needs work. You have schools 150 miles apart in the same region. Kosciusko’s region opponents would be 70, 100, 105, & 127 miles.

Hatley goes to Region 4 but which school is closer to Mantatchie and East Union to get 4 football schools in Region 1 Bruce or Vardaman.

MHSAA Week 10 Preview from the Varsity Voices Podcast. Playoff seedings are on the line as 1A-4A wrap up the regular season. Premier Game of the Week is D'Iberville vs Gulfport Some big rivalry games this week in the Battle for the Golden Chicken and The Maroon Bowl. AND there is absolute madness in Region 5-1A -
MS Palmer to Region 3 I was learning in that direction.

Should High School Football adopt the College Overtime Rule
Admiral4Life replied to Wareaglefan1us's topic in Football
If it were impossible then OT games from weeks ago would still be going on right now. Score and get a stop or get a stop and go score. That's the formula. OT games are exciting for everyone involved but someone has to win. Leave the rules alone. Backing the ball up to the 20 or 25 would drag these games out even more. OT should be about getting the game resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible. -

Nothing in OT starts at the 35. College starts at the 25yd line. High school starts at the 10yd line -
My prediction for the North Region 1 Region 2 Region 3 Region 4 New Site Non Football Byers Edwards East Webster Baldwyn Bruce Northside Eupora Mantachie Strayhorn Charleston Aberdeen East Union Water Valley Riverside Hatley Myrtle Vardaman Palmer Kemper

Not smart to break up Aberdeen and Hatley. Also, MS Palmer doesn't fit with your projection. IMHO

High School Football is NOT college football. Don't mess with it. Not broken. IMHO -
Lake should go to region 6. It’s plausible that Lake go to region 5 and Philadelphia goes to region 6, but it’s shorter travel distances for everyone if Lake is in region 6 and Philly is in region 5. Not to mention if you have a district of Enterprise, Philadelphia, Bay Springs, Heidelberg, and Newton that would be a horrible baseball region. Adding Lake to that region instead of Philadelphia would at least give you two good teams for baseball.
-
Maybe Region 5 Philadelphia Newton Bay Springs Heidelberg Enterprise Clarke Region 6 Mize Lake Scott Central Pelahatchie Puckett However they seem to want Region 5 current in 3A/2A align with Region 5. That would be Philadelphia, Newton, Lake, Scott Central, and Pelahatchie. Region 6 would be Puckett, Mize, Bay Springs, Heidelberg, Enterprise Clarke. Region 8 with 4 schools.
-
Lake is staying 2A by less than 5 students.

Ole Miss proved this theory wrong last week. -
State is in a better NIL and overall program situation than it was in 2023. Lebby gets some credit for that, certainly, but at the end of the day you’ve gotta win games, too. It’s a moot point if they get to 6 or 7 wins this year, so I hope that’s what happens. But if at the end of the year you’re talking about a guy who has gone 2-10, 5-7, 5-7 in the transfer portal era….. Do I think State could find someone that could do better than that? Yes, I do.
-
Philadelphia will have no place to go but to region 5. That will have to be the region that has 4 teams. Philly, Scott central, puckett, and pelahatchie
-
I agree some on the TE. JJ way behind in some areas and could possibly get portalled over but KT being out now mite alter that. They did expect JJ to pick up on tings faster but he hasn't yet.

How many overtime games do we have? A few every year. Put it at the 20 or 25 not the 35.
