  1. Past hour
  2. The full game is on East Marion’s Hudl. I scrolled to where you could see the scoreboard, and it said 24-0 East Marion. Didn’t watch very much of it, but definitely looked one sided in East Marion’s favor.
  3. Interesting column by Rick Cleveland in MS Today. Commented that MM Roberts was an avowed racist and that the stadium should have never been named for him in the first place. Of course it will always be called “The Rock” by the fans. https://mississippitoday.org/2026/08/21/usm-the-rock-renasant-stadium/
  4. I seen a few highlights but didn’t catch the score, I did see East Marion break for a TD though
  5. Some games were canceled due to the weather. I gave looked everywhere and no listing of scores to amount to much. @fnutl is posted the scores but it won't pull up any list.
  6. Today
  7. Anybody hear how Mount Olive did against east Marion ?
  8. Clarksdale 19 Southaven 16 Calhoun City 14 Charleston 8 Gentry 12 Leland 8 Humphrey County 14 Shaw 0 Greenwood 7 Rosa Fort 0 Simmons 14 Crystal Springs 0 South Delta 0 Elzy 0 Greenville 6 O’Bannon 6 Northside 26 Coahoma 20
  9. Yes he walked into a better situation though. Brookhaven was more handicapped because of offense
  10. Yeah, that'll never happen. Professional leagues barely get those type of fines.
  11. $200,000, $500,000 WILL START DIPPING INTO ONE'S BUDGET.
  12. So you think the current situation in Brookhaven is similar to what Corey reynolds walked into at west jones slick?
  13. Here is the real problem: too many schools no longer fear the MHSAA because they do not believe the MHSAA has the backbone to impose a punishment that actually hurts. If the reports are accurate that Brandon has violated the football practice rule for a second straight year, then another weak probation does nothing except reinforce that belief. I have talked with athletic directors who openly question whether the MHSAA is willing to come down hard on the powerful programs in Central Mississippi. I have heard administrators say they do not believe MHSAA leadership wants to “go down that road.” Think about what that says about enforcement. If schools believe they can break a rule, take a probation, and keep rolling with no meaningful consequence, then why would anybody fear violating the rule again? Probation without teeth is just paperwork. At some point, repeat violations should bring consequences that actually matter—loss of contests, postseason restrictions, meaningful fines, suspensions, or whatever penalties the MHSAA rulebook legally allows and applies consistently. This is bigger than Brandon. The MHSAA either has authority over all of its member schools, or it does not. A 1A school in rural Mississippi should not have to wonder whether it would receive a harsher punishment than one of the biggest programs in Central Mississippi. Same rulebook. Same enforcement. Same consequences. Until schools believe there is a real price for repeatedly breaking the rules, the MHSAA should not be surprised when some programs stop being afraid of getting caught.
  14. Myrtle might give Calhoun City a game since the game at Myrtle and if Myrtle keep the game close they might pull off a upset to start the season out at
  15. I spent a lot of that time waiting on a pause in the rain to make a run for it talking to a young kid who does some writing for the local coast sports news. He thought Brookhaven was the favorite too . What I-just said. I broke it down to him . He had not even realized that the coach had already been coaching them kids. He will probably work it in on some article now lol.. Go four it young man. I can admit I did recognize him before I started talking to him. I think it was a Facebook article I had seen. All I’m going to say is this I think this season is going to be a lot more competitive than last down here.
  16. I don’t agree with that and unlike you, I can state a reason for it. Former coach comes in, starts developing a team that has a lot of young defensive players. For whatever reason he’s had enough by the time they finish their junior season. Next coach comes in inherits all that. Matter of fact, he was coaching them on defense when former coach quit. New coach takes advantage of having all those experienced seniors and a really weak coaching group in his classification. Yes, I would put this guy that just left West Point in that week group. I know people in West Point that felt the same way after that game. Point being he don’t have all them players no more most of that team is gone. You know why I doubt him he runs the same damn offense that Tucker Peavy has been running for the last almost 25 years. It’s the same. Their defense won that title not that offense. I think he’s a defensive coach. I don’t think he can develop an offense. What’s gonna happen when a young defense can’t hold up? So no I don’t think they’re the overwhelming favorite. He fell into that title last season. Just like a couple of others have recently I won’t call no names but they’ve been called on here many times.
  17. Yesterday
  18. Idk about that. OG has a veteran front but it will be a good test. Plus the offense will be pretty deadly.
  19. HHS put the 2nd string DL in late 1st QT on the last MP possession. JV played the 2nd qt.
  20. Calhoun City not playing Coffeeville they playing Myrtle
  21. We can agree though that 5a south is Brookhaven and the other 11. Lol
