I guess my eyes are just getting opened to this, but how do the 4 regions (5 - 8 ) eliminate each other because there’s like 4 sets of seeds. I know there’s an extra week of playoffs, but it seems like there’s some duplication there that you may not be able to avoid such as having to play multiple teams of the same seed.

Oh i know their offense is really good they were good last year as well! They scored alot last year as well and that schedule finally caught up with them and they only scored 6 against Columbia! I just dont trust them because they havent been battle tested so i think their run ends in the 3rd round against McComb

Pass has a real offense. Do not sleep on Travillion, he is a treat. The knock is gonna be "they haven't played anyone", but they aren't new to the rodeo. I don't know what they are defensively, but offense is good forreal. Do not sleep. Poplarville defense is not so great. You can score against them. You just got to outscore them, which is very hard tbh. McComb, if healthy, can do it but its gonna take a near perfect game by them. The collapse they had down there this year was just crazy. Columbia doesn't have enough this year. Mendenhall no. Richland, not at all. Louisville, yes.

If they do then they have a chance to knock off Poplarville and get to state! A pass heavy team can knock em off!

@coastball the whole 4A playoff thing has got me thinking. It feels like with the Pass-Poplarville matchup, it would be a South State matchup. The reason why I say that is because I don’t think two 1 seeds can meet sooner than that. Maybe they can though as I’m not as familiar with the 4A playoffs. I honestly would be curious to know when they would actually meet up against each other.

Pass will have to face McComb in the 3rd round! They wont make it to see Poplarville at South State

I am going to say “it depends”. I kinda need to know how they get to whatever record. At 7-5 he’s probably getting an extension and I would say job well day for weathering the storm and winning games in spite of key injuries. He’s very likely back at 6-6 too. The only thing I think that could sway that MAYBE is if they go to Oxford on Black Friday and it’s a 2008, 45-0 style massacre. If they go 5-7, that would mean they lost 7 of 8 to finish the year and lost to Vandy and Auburn at home. I don’t think he’s going to have many in his corner if that happens. There was a lot of smoke before the year that Lebby was told that the expectation was 7-5 better. Maybe the injury situation buys him a little leeway, but how much? I do think it’s really important that State look competitive in these last 5 games. If they go out and lose to Vandy at home and get smoked by Texas, Auburn, and OM…. I don’t know that anyone has any faith in this guy even with Kamario next season. Because I will go ahead and say now, the expectation for a Lebby Year 4 with a returning Kamario would be 24 team Playoff or bust. I think that much would be pretty cut and dry.

It always has been an injury that lingers. You really didn’t want him to keep trying to play and end up causing another injury not being at full strength. They need to get bowl eligible to carry any positive momentum into the offseason, but I agree Lebby won’t be going anywhere this year unless they lose to TN Tech.

Honestly, I don’t think he is any trouble this year. Hopefully AJ Swann can play going forward. At least he is a player with game experience. I know some of our fans have the patience of a gnat but I don’t think Lebby should be fired this year. Of course I am from the old school that feels like you should give a coach at least 5 years or even more before considering a change. We all talked about having some stability at the HC position after having 4 HC’s in six years. We are only three years into Lebby’s tenure. Give him a chance to succeed. Regarding Taylor, when I first heard turf toe, I was of the mind that he was probably done for the season. It is an impossible injury to recover from quickly. Again I am interested in seeing how we play Saturday.

Huge loss for State. How many does State need to win for Lebby to be safe? 7 is definitely safe. 6 is probably 50/50? 5 and he’s toast.

How about go back to 6 classes but cap the total number of schools in 6A and 5A at 24 to keep the "gap" from being so large? Current 7A would just be 6A, current 6A would be 5A, then have 48 schools per class for 4A, 3A, and 2A? It would allow the 8 regions have six schools per region for a total of 48 in those classes and then 1A gets the left-over. Nah, makes too much sense and doesn't give the association enough money.

I think the opinion of Hattiesburg/West Jones is they just need to line up and play. The chips will fall however they will fall.

It's gonna come down to that Pass-Poplarville bout in the playoffs.

I think Pass stays undefeated. D'Iberville CAN if Gpt makes those early mistakes like they have in big games.

WJ’s offense has played 2 bad half’s this season. 2nd half vs Laurel, and 1st half vs George County (without about 5 starters btw). I don’t look for them to have a bad half this week. They will score. WJ’s defense however, I don’t know if they played more than 2 quarters of good defense against any opponent they will end the season with a .500 or better record. I would be a liar if I said I had confidence they would keep Hattiesburg from scoring 30. I simply do not at all trust the defense.

Just a few things this week Leake Central is really going to win that region in their first year of existence as a school and have a good chance to make it to the title game. IN 5A 7A-4A Undefeateds left with very slim chances to make it to to the title game Lake Cormorant, Diberville and Pass Christian Tony Vance, I’ve never asked you for anything. Win that dam game this Friday for everything that is holy and just. Bring the drama as only you can. If Meridian pulls this off I will send you a bottle of top shelf of your choice through Vott. You got my word. Diberville now on to you. It’s all right there in front . Homefield all the way thru south State game. Consider this an intervention. Your defense is not gonna stop Gulfport . Your offense is not gonna be able to line them up and just push them out of the way like you’ve been doing to people. TWO WEEKS. Two weeks the coach has had to prepare for this. Undefeated and absolutely has the team to go in and win this game. Yet I can’t shake this nagging thought that they just gonna go out there and keep slamming into the line over and over and over and over. Congratulations brother unbeaten is a hell of an accomplishment, but all it does is buy you an opportunity like this Friday. I know sometimes it seems like I’m picking on this dude, but I spend a good bit of time over that way. To me over the years, they have wasted more championships than anyone I know.
