Not to change the subject but regardless of what happens in Oxford Saturday, the Florida game is shaping to to be a huge trap for the Ole Miss team the following week.
-
there are many schools all over the state reporting much lower numbers. Why is this?
-
Found it. Looks like Murrah will drop a long way. Last team in 6A or the top of 5A depending on how many more they lost.
-
I'll take USM, State, LSU(but i really don't want to), Bama (I pray),Florida, A&M by a bunch, Georgia by even more
-
Yes, higher end of 2A
- Today
-
183 from East Union. solid 2A

Cool Heads Soft Points Review with Slick and Bo for Sept 7

Kosciusko put Louisville out last year. They played 2 very close football games. I expect the same thing this year. Kosciusko is a very good football team. If anyone is going to beat Louisville it’s Kosciusko and that is it. Louisville travels to Kosciusko on 10/09 and the rematch will be North Half barring a major upset of one of them. They are heads above the rest of 4A although Kosciusko has to improve in defense. Giving up 50+ to Hernando doesn’t look good but scoring 60 does. I am very interested in Leake. Leake High is a consolidation of Leake Central who went I think 9-3 last year and got put out by McComb in a 1 point game and Leake County who went 7-6 and lost in the 3rd round to Taylorsville. Both of those teams were young last year also. Leake high is a team that combined went 16-9 last season and are playing together. I know little to nothing about Germantown other than they score a lot of pointa and give up more. -

How is anyone going to keep Louisville from going to the title game ? Who put them out last season ? How good is this new school , Leake High ? Is Germantown better than last season ? -
I’ll have to go back and look. I couldn’t find that link. Based on last years 7th-10th numbers it looks like Greenville may be the last 7A school. That was the only change I saw there with Meridian and Murrah going down.

Shannon appx 400 Mooreville appx 350

JPS website will tell you if you click on feeder programs. Looks to me that most JPS schools continue to drop in numbers. St Martin was the smallest 7A at 964 Meridian largest 6A at 958.

You ain’t gotta apologize. I was hoping you would have played along LOL. I’m glad you were able to make a pick, because I honestly think it could go either way. If the Biloxi game last week was the so called “get the monkey off the back” game for Picayune, I understand why you would make that pick. I just want to see Picayune start to build. I mean Gulfport and JA left them with enough rubble and mortar to do so.

That Gport defense has been getting loved by many in this early season. Myself included. If there is such a thing as a chin for pass defense it's about to get checked. I may have obligations in Hattiesburg that afternoon. If the day is still going good I want to see it live.
-
Sorry I left them off ny mistake. Picayune V OS I take the Tide PRC v Poplarville I take Poplarvile I apologize for my error. No slight intended
-
any word on what numbers shannon and mooreville will have this time?
-
I don't have a source at either of those.
-
what about Shannon, Clarksdale
-
New Albany 430 Corinth 466 both stay in 4A West Point 540 Pontotoc 480-probably stay 5A Lafayette 740- probably move up to 6A I'm told that Amory and Mooreville are right at the 4A/3A cutoff Hamilton136- might drop to 1A
-
I can't imagine any will be looking to join with the new multiplier. The association was very short sighted when they told the river parochial schools they couldn't have athletes from across the border. It's not like Cathedra, St. Al, or Greenville St. Joe's were powerhouse programs and teams year in and year out in most sports. Like most things (7 classes....) a few coaches and admins got their boxers in a twist and leadership reacted.

I agree with this. Shannon would beat Aberdeen. Shannon has the ability to play with anyone. Consistently winning takes time and commitment. West Point, Louisville, Picayune, Poplarville, weren't built in one year it took consistent commitment to the kids and the program in order to be successful. There have been many "right" hires to maintain expectations of excellence. It takes a community coming together for their kids and pushing administration towards providing resources for the children and pushing staff members to work towards learning and growing. Tony Evans has one of my favorite quotes, "either you hate change enough to lose or you hate losing enough to change which is it?" -
What private schools are set to join during this re-class?

Clarksdale probably is the only decent team in the delta this year, Shannon might be in a different level than Aberdeen are cause Shannon play harder competition than Aberdeen do on their non conf, Shannon beat Aberdeen the Jamboree couple weeks ago 25-6, don't be surprise Shannon go far in the playoffs, they do got the right coach, know the game of football -
i agree on each and will add that the Hogs will maybe win 2 or 3 next season too.
-
Probably. I would too, but I'll be there this Friday Vott.
