My oldest step daughter lives right there where you go from Scott, to newton, to Mashona in like a mile stretch of road. Just east of sebastapol. We had this talk about a month ago where my grandkids would go. Maps have them just inside the corner of neshoba county but car tags are newton and they are about 6 minutes from sebastapol.

I read article yesterday from a Jackson TV station in a meeting in June. Those districts multiple in a county such as Scott, Newton, Clarke, Jasper Counties and schools to be closed or consolidated will be tied to the school choice bill that will be brought up again.

Meridian just does not have much to talk about these days. Over the last 10 years I think we may have 2-3 winning seasons. We will see if Tony Vance can revive the program. Mainly it is just a wait and see this year. If we can just look like a competent football team, I will be pleased. Regardless of the win/loss record.

I have never paid much attention to West Point as they are not a team my team plays regularly. So all my info on them comes from here or reading various Facebook posts. And I remember that not many from WP were happy with Morgan being hired. I think most wanted another guy but I do not know name. I think it was a defensive coach. Someone posted a picture of him leaning against a tractor tire or something,!

I really didn't cause he was the WR coach that year and had been the WR & ST coach from 09 until he got bumped up to OC when the OC left. Morgan had the pleasure of inherenting the group with Marcus Murphy, Jason Brownlee, Chris Calvert, & company which had been running the offense from 7th grade until they graduated. That group never lost a game until they got to HS so that was easy. You still talking about 5 or 6 years that WP didnt do anything 2010 State Championship 2011 2nd round exit to Starkville that they beat in the regular 2012 North Half Championship exit to Starkville that they beat in the regular 2013 1st round exit and probably the worse defense in 20 years 33.8 ppg giving up 2014 2nd round exit to Oxford 2015 North Half Championship exit to Oxford Only 13 & 14 were bad years WP had play action plays before Morgan got there. Mike Carr was at receiver for a reason. Why would the best player be at receiver if we never threw the ball to him? But just to put a lil something out there. WP fans never wanted Morgan as HC and he wasn't supposed to be HC so what @slicklizardsaid has some truth to it. I'll leave it at that. I'm done going back and forth with you so I won't respond to anything else.

And you literally made my point for me in your cute little highlight video. PEOPLE CAUGHT UP WITH WEST POINT PRIOR TO BRETT MORGAN GETTING ON STAFF. Literally every play is from the exact same set other than the fake punt. West Point had become predictable for 5-6 years and because of it they struggled. Morgan fixed it by being creative and adding a very well designed play action pass game which is something WP didn’t have before him AT ALL.

Never claimed to know anything other than the fact that Morgan’s seat was NOT hot in West Point as your soulmate @slicklizard claims it was since he is so well versed in WP football. Also pointed the fact that Morgan and Welch both did a great job at West Point. Maybe you would have seen that if you read a little higher in the thread.

Yeah, Scott has never been one to try and hang 50 on a team, when the outcome is already known. If this one starts getting out of hand, you will see the 2nd string QB and running back(s) pretty quickly. I'm anxious to see how the WJ defense looks. I think the offense will be good.

You say you're familiar with WP but I'm born and raised in WP. Oh yeah and PLAYED for WP. Attending EVERY single game but you go tell me you kno more about my team than I do. Not saying that Morgan didn't help but he didn't do 90% anything. Allen had his scheme that he wanted ran. Gresham used what Allen wanted and added the beast cat to it with Aeris. West Point prior to Morgan spent 90% of their time in Power I running Power, Toss, Buck, Gator and Boot Pass with Ashley Kuhn and Chambliss when Dennis Allen was HC. They would get in what they called "Cannon Ball" or "Hammer" and run Power and Jet Sweep and that is about it 51. I am very familiar with West Point dating all the way back to the late 90s when they struggled to win their first game every year versus Columbus. Brett Morgan and Casey Welch took an already good well coached scheme and system and turned it into something much more advanced than what it was. West Point had begun to struggle because teams caught up with them and what they were doing. Morgan and Welch were a huge part of getting West Point back to what they are by being less PREDICTABLE on offense. Now Chambliss deserves the credit for hiring good assistants and letting them do their job and realizing that what they were doing was lagging from 11-15. West Point has plenty of tradition to be proud of but to even hint at the fact that Morgan and Welch weren't a huge part of getting them back on track is idiocrasy. @slicklizard call me out anytime but I am willing to bet I've watched twice as many West Point football games than you will ever see in your lifetime. "You come correct or your card will get pulled". Here ya go. You can check and see how many plays that WP is in the Power I in this and guess how many times they run POWER and TOSS. Teams were catching up. Chambliss knew it. Morgan knew it. They adjusted and got creative and it paid off in a big way!

The one most recent I remember and its because I was listening on the radio coming home was when East central played at Laurel in a playoff game. East Central threw a hail mary on the last play of the game. The officials called pass interference to give them an untimed down at the 10yd line. EC attempted a FG and missed it.

Must win game for PRC wtbs wouldn't surprise me one bit if WC won. The one athlete PRC has is OK. Watching him against hburg in the playoffs was hard.

What's you thoughts or hopes for Mississippi Universities this season? Sorry if I overlooked any. Ole Miss- I think will have a really good year and in the mix at the end State- Really hoping they improve.Always fun when the big three are competitive USM- really shaky in my opinion and I hate to say that Hoping for 6 wins Jackson State- I expect another solid year Alcorn- Should be solid MVSU- I think they'll get 4-5 wins Delta State- I think they have a bad drop off. Schedule is really tough I see maybe 3 wins Belhaven- I think 6 win season Millsaps- could be a tough year but hope the majors hit 5 wins
