  1. Past hour
  2. Would work for larger schools who actually have a kicker. not so much in the lower classes who simply just go for 2
  3. I think so today’s game makes it almost impossible to stop a team in four downs from the ten. I know it happens but the game has evolved so change the rule
  4. I spent several Friday nights on top of both press boxes lol you’re definitely up there
  5. Today
  6. Its no higher than petal or og. Lol
  7. If you wind up going to the game this Friday and sit on the Purvis side incognito, you might want to bring some chewing gum especially if you sit on the top row. You might feel the pressure change in your ears.
  8. Mize, bay springs, enteprise, and Heidelberg can’t be in a 4 team region because that leaves only 4 teams in region 8. Mize will have to go to region 8.
  9. I’m actually watching the Purvis/ NEJ game from Friday. Purvis has decent size and will hit you. If WC don’t overlook them they should win against Purvis and NEJ. I mean absolutely no disrespect to either team. WC has athletes all over the field and they are improving week to week. Like you said the defense has really improved. On offense we have a number of running backs and the receivers have really improved also. But we’re talking about teenagers lol who knows what shows up on Friday night
  10. 3A currently has a 4 team region up north, and a 6 team region down south with OLA. With 1A already stacked with 3, 4, 5, and 6 team regions i think the authority to have a similar set up in 2A with this reclassification. Then who replaces Clarkdale will it be Philadelphia or Kemper County. Or will Region 6 simply be Heidelberg, Enterprise, Mize, and Bay Springs as a 4 team region or will add Collins or Newton to the region. You can count on lack of common sence and left field thinking somewhere in some class.
  11. who is he not using correctly?
  12. Myrtle is expecting a weak region so they are loading up non division next year. dropped Belmont and picked up east webster and booneville and also scheduled north tippah
  13. Myrtle has been in 2A they won region 2 this year in 2A
  14. An abundance of injuries seems like a reoccurring issue at West Jones every year. At least based on what I read here.
  15. Wayne County and Petal games. WJ was down 2 o linemen, the backup to one of them was hurt 2bd half against Wayne, the starting rb, backup rb who is also starting d end, and Lindsey was not supposed to play against Wayne but came in when the backup got hurt the first drive. The starting rb played some against Terry but got injured again and did not play 2nd half. He had only a handful of carries against Forrest hill. Defense was down the de, a lb, and a corner that was moved to offense as rb against petal. It’s been a rough stretch. They moved up 2 jr high rb’s, a jr high lb and a corner. It became apparent that west has quiet s few seniors, very few juniors ( like 4 get any playing time), and a bunch of 10th graders getting playing time. With about 6 freshmen lumped in the last 3-4 weeks. West will be very young next year.
  16. Jeff Lebby don't know how to use his talent, not a good x's, o's coach
  17. I get wanting to have 5 teams in every region. But if allowing one region to have 6 while an other one has 4 would make it better for most of the teams, then they should allow that to happen. Region 7 needs to have 6 teams. If you don’t you are going to make travel for an entire region a headache and also at least one team in every other region headache, when it could have been avoided
  18. If the director asked the board to allow him to put 5A-7A into 5 and 7 team regions he can do the same with 4A-1A.
  19. Apparently Manny Diaz or Jake Dickert would take the job.
  20. True about round one. But if the no.2 seed makes it to round 2 of playoffs its a road trip to Picayune.
  21. It's hard to get a read on this game because both teams are going to come in trying to stop what the other one hangs their hat on offensively.. WJ's whole RB room was injured at one time I think and IDK how many of them has gotten back healthy. HHS best strategy on defense might be to just play back and keep the WJ passing game in front of them . If they try to man up and pressure Lindsey by bringing more people he's just going to roll out and throw it up to the rebounders they have playing receiver. A losing strategy for a defense IMO. Lacey is a defensive guy and I suspect he will try to disguise pressure and stop Lindsey from setting up and throwing. Honestly what Hattiesburg is hanging their hat on right now as an offense I'm not familiar with. Whatever it is WJ will almost certainly make them do something else. That's what Pierson does. Slow down the time the QB has to make a decision. So getting production running with something they haven't put on film would go a long way. I've said this before . Scott Pierson is a top five coach in the state . Lacey has been kind of hot and cold since last season so this is a chance for him to elevate his game again. If I had to make a pick I would say WJ just because of Pierson who loves to pick apart the special teams of the other side. Remember that. Teams are pretty evenly matched so it should be close with a turnover or special teams mistake deciding it. They are going to finish 1 and 2 in the region anyway so big picture a loss doesn't set either back . Facing PRC, Gautier or Pascagoula at home in R1 is not a make or break.
  22. Agree I think he's back next year if for no other reason than if he goes KT will go as well. We have improved every year and anyone that watched the first 4 games should see that with a healthy KT this is a 9-10 win team. For the crowd saying he should have recruited a quality back up, who wants to come when you know you are going to be a back up. We had one in Kromenhek and he left because he knew he was never going to start. And for the fire Lebby crowd, who you going to get. We have Lebby because no "name" coaches wanted the job last time.
  23. That's right, there had been so much talk of them moving down I just forgot.
  24. Also bringing Arnett back this year hasn't panned out at all. The defense probably cost us that Oklahoma game and yes you can point to the Puckett fumble and interception, but Oklahoma was able to move the ball pretty much at will.
  25. Purvis has a pretty good size home side. It's really tall.
  26. I was optimistic when he was hired. And I still think his offensive scheme is very good. But the program building has not been a strength for him. State hasn’t recruited well and his staff hires have been iffy at best at many positions. I’m open to being wrong on this but right now it sure feels like Lebby is another classic case of “good coordinator, bad head coach”. Which would be the third time that’s happened for State in the last decade. So maybe next time hire someone with head coaching experience, just a thought. Lebby’s winning percentage is worse than Sly Croom’s. And I would argue that Croom was a superior program builder too.
  27. WC can wrap up the region this week by going 4-0 at Purvis. The first since 2013. I had to look twice at that but it's true. Purvis is one of the few places I've never visited for a game. It will be a goodbye of sorts too as they will be going back down a class. A pat on the back to our defensive staff for shaping the defense up after the non region schedule.
