I didn’t analyze any of these teams at this point it is what it is.

 

It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t take my hat off to Gautier. I was critical of them all season and their defense is still a wart on their. However if their is any player you can fill in the holes they might cause it is that QB. They have good receivers that get open but most high schoolers don’t see that many players running routes much less a QB that can stick it in their chest .  

I was texting with someone from here the other day and both of us agreed that he was the best we had seen at the high school level. There have been better I’m sure but I’ve never seen them. I’ve seen Fant , Matthews, that hot shot from West Monroe years ago. This kid is better. Quick release ,on target with superior velocity. He reminds me of Chris Leak 

 

 

I left the ten spot open for the 11-16 teams that may pull the upset.

 

I would like to do something for the playoffs with info on logistics of host schools for visiting teams.  

Maybe by Wednesday or Thursday. Busted my foot today so I am hopping around like a wounded four point.

it was 86,87,88. Somewhere in there. I was at State and became good friends with a dude from Jackson. We drove down to his parents house for the game and went to Clinton for the title game. I don’t even remember who they played but watching him pin point place the football was eye opening. I knew he was a cut above. They won easily but stuck in my mind was a fast kid with a loud mouth from Pascagoula. It was Terrell Buckley . When he showed up on TV at Florida State I was like I remember this guy.

I believe Goula played Greenwood in the title game. I know they played Hburg in first round in 88. It was ugly.

I feel like bumping this thread up because well things are quite boring again.  Does anyone have any thoughts or concerns about next season?  My main concern is the lack of home games we will have.  I have no idea who came up with Picayune's schedule for next year, but hopefully we can get a home game for week 2.  If not, we'll only have 4 home games.  I know that it will probably reverse in 2024, but there needs to be some more balance in regards to that.  The season will be nearly a month old before Picayune has it's first home game.

Here's my take on it.  If it's not too late Picayune needs to get with Brandon if it's a home and home series and get the game against Brandon moved to a home game this coming year (2023) and then get the game in 2024 moved to Brandon.  It's probably too late for that kind of wishful thinking, but having to play Brandon, D'Iberville, and Gulfport all on the road isn't exactly a Japanese Wagyu A5 either.

As a Pascagoula fan, I'm very disinterested in many of the match-ups with traditionally bad teams.  Of course I'm almost equally disinterested in Pascagoula football given the community apathy and indifference of the administration.

 

And, heck, we may soon become one of the those traditionally bad teams if prevailing attitudes continue.

I'm going to crank it up on Jan 1. I'll give my south picks for south 5a-7a

I stayed true to my word that I wouldnt post anything until 2023. I will post who I think will win south regions for 5a 6a and 7a later today.

I have settled on this format. I going to call it Slicks Sad Seven.. Let someone else come up with who’s at the top this season. It was the sad ten but seven is enough for the miserable to cycle through each week. I’m writing some of it up now and will try to have it up next week sometime.
