So Deonte, who do you think will face off for the 5A South State Championship this year?  There's no wrong answers here, but what are your thoughts?

I've said in the beginning of the season and before. We playing Picayune. I want some Maroon Tide blood LOL. I initially had the Tigers playing Picayune in round 1 because I didn't think we'd get healthy in time.

why you gotta be like that when we have been nothing but friendly to ya'll? we let ya'll fantasize all year about being champs (all offseason too) and don't say a word. now you are out for blood?  That's gratitude.

He don't speak for everyone. Lol

I know I’m a bit late to this topic, but there is a place about 15 mins down the ride in ellisville called K-rocks. Great chicken and nice service.
Reminds me of my moms home cooking I used to eat during football season while watching my dad coach

Thanks for the restaurant recommendation MeridianMomma.  I’ll have to stop in and give that place a try in a couple of weeks on my way to Atlanta.  Laurel will be playing Picayune this week at Picayune in the 1st round of the 5A playoffs Friday night.

Lol now Tib, you know in another thread months ago I've said this. I didn't mean it like that lol so don't take it the wrong way. I knew going into the season y'all would be top dog. This thing is going through y'all. Period.

The million dollar question to this equation is can Hattiesburg beat Gautier?  If we can get an answer to that we might know how things are going to shake out.

That's a great question but not one I can answer in good faith. Because these stripes are bright colored almost blinding to the eye. I think we can beat them.

Gotta beat Vancleave first. I'm not looking ahead at all.

As hot as y’all have been playing it would be a real surprise if Hattiesburg comes up on the short end of the stick come Friday.  So “without” looking ahead, how will Hattiesburg stack up against Gautier?  If I’m looking ahead, oh well.  This will definitely be a slick10 primo matchup.

Not sure. Because no team HHS has played runs an offense like Gautier. So they may rush 3 and put 8 in coverage. Or perhaps do what they did 2yrs ago and blitz him all night and make him force throws he don't want to make. Not sure about now, but Irving didn't like to run the ball nor did he like getting hit.

There is no way you can simulate in a week the way they flood the field with receivers. He will pick you apart if you let him stand back and anticipate his throw.

You do like Vott said. You send the house. Put him on the ground a few times

He will hit some passes but he won’t be as accurate if he’s looking around to see who’s coming.

I will say this our defensive coaches have no problem jailbreaking and putting him down.  We will just have to live with the consequences.
