These rankings seem to show lots of favoritism toward the NE portion of the state. Being from the Gulf Coast, it seems odd to see Poplarville ranked 4th in 4A. Max Preps has Gautier ranked 2nd in 5A. This thread has Gautier at number 4. Picayune is definitely the real deal. Hoping Gautier shows that they are worthy of Max Preps and Slick's weekly rankings. Great come back win Wayne County. Don't slight the teams in Districts 3 and 4 just because they are south of Jackson. Just a reminder. The last two years, the South ( Class 1A-6A) has won 10 0f the last 12 state championships.

Poplarville is the #1 team in 4A and it ain’t even close.  They are an absolute thrill to watch.  What they run is built for December football.

Man, you’re coming in here new and hitting all the good points right away. Let’s hope the south end of the state can take most of the titles again this year, including at least one Coast team along with Picayune or Gautier.

I’ve always appreciated the effort that Enterprise showed trying to put out this poll. For several years I have mostly ignored it. Frankly it’s too dam much . How can you formulate a reason for each one of those to be where they are in their class less than twelve hours after the game is over ?
You have been doing it a long time and if you are happy with it keep on keeping on.
