Hmmm.... no Enterprise in 3A.  What a bummer!

I think Poplarville is better than #5 but that is some quality teams ahead them. Poplarville vs. Columbia will be a battle later on in district play.

I hear Ridgeland has a great passing attack, wonder how they will match up against a more physical team in the cooler temperatures come playoff time?

Ridgeland is a physical team themselves. I’m confused about a team not being physical because they have a good qb and 2 great WR’s? Considering they’ve got a top 3 athlete in the state they could literally put him at RB and watch the show if they wanted to but why waste the best WR in the state and probably the best WR for 2025 doing that when they can light you up through the air? Which a lot of Mississippi teams struggle to defend because of the behind the time coaching

Mississippi doesn't have behind the time coaching. That's poor mouthing a bunch of men

No it’s not. Many coaches are up with the times and some are running the wing T. I shouldn’t have necessarily put it that way because the coaches job is to win and many can do that with simplistic offenses. It was more aimed at having our high school kids ready to play on the collegiate level. And there are very few studs from our state that go right into college and ball out. Some OL, DL, but our skill positions seriously lack in readiness. Don’t care if it’s Ole Miss, State, USM, JSU, or Alcorn. Our guys do not come in as prepared as other states

Having coached in MS, AL, LA, and FL on HS and collegiate levels, I'm going to respectfully disagree.  Mississippi has among the best athletes in the nation per capita and it isn't just because of pure athleticism. There is some fine coaching in the state and to say otherwise is, as I said, poor mouthing.

Good luck to Ridgeland stopping some of the backwards behind the times teams from the south. Of course there is a lot of football left and they have to get through the potential minefield of the north state.

The wing T works at the high school level because it puts all the pressure on the defense. It's a great system if used properly but only if you can stay ahead.

 

It doesn't succeed beating high school because the defense is too athletic and well coached.

I'm say this here the WingT or any other predominantly run offense. The coaches are smart to run it because you most coach run what they have in athletes. 

 

Not ever school has accurate QB that can throw to 6'1 thur6'4 receivers
