This district doesn’t seem to have a favorite:

Forest 5-0: untested but beating smaller schools like they should

Quitman: undisciplined but athletes galore

Mendenhall: up and down week to week

Morton: offense is outstanding, defense will struggle against a competent offense

NE Jones: undersized but well coached. Will struggle against the more athletic teams in region play

ill say

1. Quitman

2. Forest

3. Mendenhall

4. Morton

5. NE Jones

As I previously stated NE Jones WILL NOT miss the playoffs.

I think Forest is the best overall TEAM in the district.

That being said I’m taking NE Jones in the upset…. 14-13.

I look for that yellow flag to fly everytime NE gets anywhere close to the end zone. Been to Forest too many times and have seen it everytime. You have to jump on them early with a kickoff return for 6. Then continously score early taking the refs out of it.

Mendenhall with a huge 24-7 win on the road at Quitman shakes things up.

Forest smothered NEJ. Much closer game than score indicated. Forest adds a late TD to stretch things out. Forest D is as good as the stats indicate. NEJ couldn’t block them up front. Game may have been different if NEJs best back isn’t out even though the freshman fill in played really well and will be a great one in a few years for NE Jones.

Forest in the drivers seat

Mendenhall/NEJ winner will be 2nd

Quitman will be a dangerous 4 seed barring they miss out if Morton pulls an upset the last two weeks.

very competitive division..

Region should come into focus this week.

Quitman @ Forest - Forest can wrap up the region with a win. Quitman is woefully under achieving with the athletes on the roster. I like Forest by a couple scores to secure the 1 seed.

Morton @ NE Jones- NEJ wraps up a playoff spot with a win. Arguably, their best offensive and defensive players will not play due to injury. Still like NEJ to get enough stops to win a high scoring game.

Morton is eliminated from playoff contention.

a lot tiebreakers in play next week.

Forest controls their own destiny for the region title.

parity reigns in this group.

Forest beat NEJ and Quitman so I think head to head gets them #1 seed
