Eagleman1228
Man what has happened in Hattiesburg. USM hasn’t even been competitive in their three division 1 games this year. I thought Hall would be the guy to get it done after 2022 season but they have been terrible. Barring a miracle, his days have to be numbered. Bulldogs4
I think he is an excellent coach in an impossible position. He has been successful at his previous stops and did a great job at UWA as HC. I know that is D2 but the GSC plays good football. He simply does not have the horses to compete. Sad truth. Years ago USM had the whole Southern gulf coast LA, MS, AL, GA and FL to themselves after the SEC got their players. Now you have USA, Troy, UAB, ULL, JAX St., GA. Southern, Ga. St. etc. recruiting the same area. The talent has been syphoned away from them.
Eagleman1228
While I understand that the tides have changed, he has signed the top classes in recent years and has high ranked portal classes. There is no reason why USM cannot compete with like resourced college programs.
Dawg83
I honestly don’t know what the solution is for USM in this era. I just know that despite how divided the talent pool is now compared to what it once was…. There is not good justification for why USM should be getting run off the field by teams like Jacksonville State who wasn’t even in the FBS two years ago.
