So do we see an exodus of coaches from these schools prior to consolidation? Magee already lost HC. Mendenhall got any headed out?

Jones interviewing/leaving is nothing new. If another job worth talking about comes open next year his name will be thrown out there for it. Learned from Dyess.

Let's assume that Mendenhall coach is not who they want then big time name comes to Magee to take over. Otherwise we see someone simply filling the job and leaving after consolidation.

I mean every one is saying something about Jones but heck in 2 years one of them if not both would have been looking for a job. I mean look at Tim McNair when Prentiss and Bassfield consolidated he was left out in the cold. Other schools have had the same problem. Yeah, he may have jumped early but in 2 years no guarantee he could get another head job. Man got to  watch out for his own family sometimes.

how you figure him leaving is nothing new?  He was a long time assistant at philly, about 7 or 8 years, then was HC at Lumberton for 6.  I call that pretty stable being at 2 jobs in the coaching business for 13 or 14 years, prior to magee.

Point behind that was he interviewed and left, which is what he has tried to do every year. At Lumberton, he put his name in for almost every head coaching opening that came open, just never got the job. Finally got the SE Lauderdale job, and then back tracked and waited for the Magee job when Teddy left. I'd be willing to bet money when the schools consolidate and if they open up the HC job for interviews, he is going to have his name in the hat. I'd also bet money he is going to put his name in for any job worth talking about next year as well. He only stayed at Lumberton as long as he did because he didn't get any of the jobs he put in for.

But I do agree him getting out of the situation for the time being is smart, especially if he has been told he might not be the guy going forward with consolidation.

my question is how do you know he put his name in for all those jobs.  yes granted we know some he was in on( se laud/magee)  but most of those jobs that "he was in on" are guaranteed rumor.  State facts not opinions.  sounds like a little case of sour grapes too me.  But he is at morton now and we wish him the best.

I know for a fact he interviewed for at least 2 other jobs last year, and he interviewed for 2 the year before due to a an old friend on staff in Lamar County who did rub elbows with him.. And yes, a coach I have never met, who has never interviewed at a school I ever worked at or interviewed for has left "sour grapes".

so who is this old friend ?  depending on that name it will tell how creditable/reliable that info you received was.

Pretty sure you don't know the meaning of the term "rub elbows", and I don't have to tell or verify anything with you. But it was Coach Dees.
