pancho Posted August 25, 2021 Share Posted August 25, 2021 I kinda am scratching my head on how New Albany is even ranked in this 4A poll. Just check the score on Sept 3rd after they play @ IAHS. IAHS should be ranked in this 4A poll for sure. New Albany will more than likely lose division games to Pontotoc and Houston as well. BoKnows08 Posted August 26, 2021 Share Posted August 26, 2021 In regards to 5A, every year Lake Cormorant seems to win 9-10 games and make a fairly deep run in the playoffs and no one ever picks them. They have been the best (by best I mean most consistent) team in Desoto County over the 5-6 years and they start every season on no ones radar. They are returning almost their entire roster off of a team that handily beat West Point last year and lost their playoff game in the final seconds. My thoughts on Lake Cormorant: They play close games with good teams and usually lose those, then lose to teams that are not-so-good, and then lose in the first or second round. They've seeded 2,3,4,2,& 3 over the last few years... and they have won 10 games only once since the school's inception, have never won nine, and won eight once - other than those two seasons they've mostly been quite mediocre.
