Vott
I dont know how many of you attend any jr hi games, but if you do whats your opinion of coaches being on the field with the players? Some do it, but ive seen other coaches stay on the sidelines and coach like it was a high school game..

Wareaglefan1us
In Wayne County we have five middle schools and our coaches coach from the sidelines. Our youth programs do allow coaches on the field but not Jr High level

Chunky6617
Every junior high I have ever been to has had the coaches on the field. Also the games are 8 minute quarters, it’s almost always a running clock, and the games are over in an hour or less

lionpack
Doesn’t bother me coaches being on the field for a middle school game. Actually doesn’t bother me for JV either.
lionpack
It’s been 20+ years since I’ve played any school affiliated ball but even back then we never did special teams and the coaches would be on the field for 7,8,9, jv

When I played pee wee many, many years ago, we kicked, punted, no coaches on the field, regular football. Now, many JH games have no kicking, coaches on the field, etc. Laziness on the part of coaches. It sounds like you need to put in for some of the coaching openings. It is possible you are a coach, but most coaches I know do not brag on their team as much as you do. I mean you really believe Lamar School is going to win the National Championship. It would be a full dissertation.

Also do you even know how most JH system work or how a lot of smaller schools have coaches running double duty. There are some lazy coaches out there but if you are coaching 7th, 8th, JV, as well as varsity I promise you lazy isn't the word you are looking for. Those guys are never at home during the season, plus they probably coach a spring sport as well.

They are learning the high school system. A lot of places will also film the games and watch it with the kids.

He probably is the type that shows up at game and measures if the grass is short enough. He will also be the type that complains if the lines are straight or not. Special teams are part of football and many coaches take the easy way out by not doing it. Just like coaches on the field, we didn't have coaches on the field my first year of pee wee in the third grade There is not a school that would hire you anyway. When the LT blocks the wrong guy for the 3rd time in a row you fix it. They are kids they will make mistakes. It has nothing to do with getting the play in and everything to do with coaching the kids. You aren't scouting the other team so when you get a bear, odd, even, over, under, 4s, 2s, 5s, 3s or 1s you have to talk to those kids about those situations during the game. A lot of high schools are getting film on the sideline so they can fix those issues. You don't get that film on the sidelines of Junior high games. You have to talk to your QB about reads. It is called Coaching. Anyone can run a play in.
