Rebel Bert
Holly Springs in 3A Mt Olive, Ashland, and French Camp in 1A All 4 without a win in a 4 team region. That is why 7 Classes are too many. That's exactly why we need 6 schools per region per class. 24 24 24/32 24/32 48 48 Remaining #'s

Hard to do that in NE Mississippi where you 10 or 12 non football schools in 1A.
MSSportsGuy
Thrasher in 1A also has no wins but is in a region with four schools so they could also get in with no victories. It's absurd this format exists. 6 classes is plenty but if the association won't change, which they won't, then 4 regions in 1A should be it.. There are too many bye weeks and incomplete schedules with these tiny regions. Having a winless team travel for a "playoff game" is idiotic. ccbulldog
all regions should have 8 teams with 4 making playoffs. So you could have 32 teams in top 2 classes then 64 in next 2 then 32 or more in smallest class until all schools are placed. 32 + 32 + 64 +64 + 32 =224 How many teams are there? coastfootballfanman
3 teams make the playoffs. 1 seeds earn a BYE in round 1.

coastball
Agree with all in that we should not have 7A classification. It all comes down to MHSAA greed and gate money. They don't care about competitiveness of games
