Arashatora
Judging by what little information is coming out, he threw a clot which caused a heart attack. Situation is dire, and doesn't sound like they expect him to pull through. I hope this isn't the case, but it's what the information seems to point towards.
maroontide06
My goodness. I'm at a loss for words if that's the case. I know him and his family definitely need our prayers.

I am in disbelief and am praying for the family I don't even want to think about what football would be like without Mike Leach. This is so terrible . maroontide06
They say that Mike Leach is the most interesting man in college football. I honestly believe he is the most important man in college football. I've been in his family's shoes before and I think we all have at some point in time and my heart just breaks for them. I understand that comment is debatable and maybe I should have reworded that to impactful or something like that, but he has definitely made a stamp on the sport of football in general. One that can't be replaced.

Bulldogs4
He is the most important coach in college football because of his dry wit, innovative knowledge of the game, his unusual resume of having a law degree and never having played college football as a player (did play rugby at BYU), his ability to win as the HC at Texas Tech, Washington State and Mississippi State, his vast knowledge and the willingness to speak his mind in a way to use dry analogies to make his point. Then underneath all that is a great football mind and very good coach. For the most part players love playing for him and coaches enjoy coaching under his tutelage. Finally, in this day and age of sensitivity and coming out of the dark days of COVID, he is a refreshing breath of fresh air for college football fans across the country. His importance goes beyond wins and losses.
