Tiburon
Maybe most of you guys have already seen this, but I was pretty impressed and thought I would share. Thompson, over in Alabaster, won the 7A football championship convincingly over Auburn. Them winning 7A is not a new thing, they are always good and this makes their 4th championship in a row. But the MVP of this game was their QB. He is an eighth grader. That's an amazing performance at that level for such a young kid. I think he has only been starting since the 1st game with Hoover (I think that was the game their starter was injured). They lost that game, but in the playoffs he lead them to a victory in the Hoover rematch that allowed them continue on the road to another championship. https://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/story/sports/high-school/2022/12/01/trent-seaborn-8th-grader-dominated-at-alabama-high-school-football-state/69691009007/

Great story BTW.

Tiburon
I was wondering the same thing. I am not really up on my info, but I thought they got 4 years. Maybe playing on varsity for less than half a year is not counted toward the eligibility? I am sure someone here will know.

MAIS I know doesn't care, MHSAA I don't know offhand.

Archer
Mark Freeman is one heckuva coach. There isn’t a coach in Mississippi on his level.
Wareaglefan1us
I believe they can play in the eighth grade in Al. If this kid stays healthy he’s going to be very good
