Two north Mississippi teams will take a 3+ hours trip to Hattiesburg to play for it all. Baldwyn represents the north and Hollandale-Simmons represents the south. Two teams who are no strangers in either being in the mix or playing for a title. This is Baldwyn first trip with 2008. This is Simmons first trip since 2021. The referees for some reason called a hold, but said the hold occurred after the player had gotten enough yardage for a first down so it’s still a first down. It’s supposed to be 10 yards from the spot of the foul, would woukd have made it still 3rd down. This is the state championship games, and we cannot get officials that even understand the rules.
