For the coaches, they have to keep the food distractions away and hope for discipline among the players. There is nothing like the last four teams playing for the right to play in the state championship. Who are you rooting for this Friday? 1A North State: Biggersville at McEvans- One of the anticipated matchup from few when the season started and for many after Mcevans win over Simmons. Undefeated Biggersville takes a trip down to the Delta from the Northeast to take on a one loss McEvans team in Shaw. Both teams have some key playmakers and are very resilient. Biggersville coming off a 36-28 win over Simmons and McEvans is coming off a 34-8 win over South Delta. Both teams are starving to make history and be the first state football champions for their school. Will this be a high scoring or low scoring game? Who will go on to Hattiesburg to challenge the south for the 1A State championship? 1A South State: Taylorsville at Bay Springs- A much anticipated rematch from earlier in the season where Bay Springs won 36-20 about a month ago. Taylorsville is taking the trip over to Jasper County for a very physical business meeting with Bay Springs. Bay Springs is looking to keep being dominant in the playoffs just as they have been all season. Taylorsville is looking to spoil the Bulldogs chance of repeating as state champions and reclaim ther throne as state champions. Taylorsville is coming off a 40-20 win over Hamilton and Bay Springs is coming off a 42-0 shutout win over West Lowndes. Bay Springs has yet to allow a single point in the playoff. Will this be a low scoring or high scoring game? Who will go on and have a virtual home field in Hattiesburg to challenge the north for the 1A State championship? I think Brady and Company will control the line of scrimmage and just pound the rock a occasionally my throws down field to keep T ville honest. Taylorsville a bunch a 9th and 10th grade. Only lose a couple dis year. Taylorsville had Bay Spring beat last year and the refs took it. Bunch bad calls this year too. Their fan base may end up doing them in, however. I see Brady bolting at the first good opportunity he gets. If West Jones comes open and is willing to take him, he will be gone. What Mize got coming back? I only watch them early in the year. Raleigh lose a lot but still got some players too. They should compete good in 2A. And he’s a good one. East Marion is dropping down but they won’t be better than Tville. Mize loses a lot of offensive production but brings back a lot of their defense. We will have 3 good offensive linemen and our fullback will be back. We lose everybody else on offense. Gonna have to lean on the defense early in the year. Raleigh will be fine.
