i agree, but they got help in the first game from the refs. so I will take the rain if it gives us an advantage in the 2nd one. but you and i know fumbles happen in the rain and that can affect us as well. could also affect our passing.

don't like to predict games. way to many variables. but i will say this: I kind of expect #12 to try and run more in this one. we will see.

I know back when WC was more of a passing team we felt the wet conditions were to our advantage. The reasoning was because the receivers knew their routes and cuts. The DBs had to adjust. The wet balls can be changed out and dried.
Everyone was hoping for good weather I know I was. We were planning on making the trip but I’m not driving three hours to sit in the rain sorry lol

I am holding out hope that they miss this forecast like they have been doing down here the last three months.

It was only a ten percent chance  of rain today. It was been raining and nasty since lunch on  the north shore. I don’t sit in rain either.

Yeah that’s what they are showing here too. So I might get to make the trip after all me and my grandson

Well let’s hope that will be the case.  Even if it rains Friday morning I think that will be ok as well.  The front just needs to be gone by Friday evening.  P’monia weather ain’t good for kids who like to come and sit and watch the game like adults.  If y’all do come you are more than welcome to come sit on the home side.  We also have pretty good concessions on both ends of the stadium.  If you’re in the mood for BBQ, the football booster concession stand is good for that.  If you want something more traditional like hamburger, sausage dog, hot dog, chicken tenders, boiled peanuts or French fries the Band Booster concession stand is good for that as well.

Wow! What a game tonight!  Easily the best game plan and game played all year.  I honestly thought it was going to be another war again, but boy was I gladly proven wrong.  This team is on a mission and that mission isn’t completed yet.  The Maroon Tide will not quit until the mission is complete and then after that Picayune will just reload for the next mission.  What a great and shocking performance.  It truly was a great night in Picayune and the fans really showed up and made Lee-Triplett stadium a damned tough place to play for the opponent.  We need this kind of support and more next Friday.  Roll Tide, Roll!

This is not the biggest or most athletic that the tide has ever had. From my watching they have something you can’t coach.. They feed on and welcome adversity. I think they are on an incredible run and as good as Gautier offense is , they are not the one to break it.

Gautier has a period in their games where they explode for two or three TDs then go into a long lull. Last time they played Picayune just went into the lull with them. . I can guarantee that Picayune Coach has seen this too will exploit it. They also were sending everybody to stop the run and got burnt on some swing passes. They will get burnt worse this time if they have to do that again. They did the same thing against us for the run but our passing game resembles Nebraskas trying to play from behind during the Tommy Frost days.I think this game will be already decided  for most of the fourth quarter.

I want  to see more of #4 for Picayune taking the snap

I'm not one to toot my own horn but if not me then whom ?  ,,, ahem...

Great post Slick.  You called it last night.  That was some great coaching adjustments by Picayune and Gautier ran out of gas and threw in the towel.  This Maroon Tide team wants something more.

First off, congrats to the Picayune football team, coaches and fans.  Although I don’t think the final score is an indication of how bad Gautier played or how much better Picayune is than Gautier, I believe it is an indication of how much better Picayune was last night.  I believe Kaden is one of, if not the best QB in the state.  I also believe our overall receiving corp is the best in the state, as a group.  Any of our 4 top receivers could lead the team on any night.  As great of a team and players as Picayune has, the 3 that deserve the most credit last night, are the down linemen. Our offensive line could not block them and they were able to apply pressure to Kaden, without blitzing.  That allowed Picayune to drop 8 into coverage.  I don’t care how great the QB or receivers are, if everyone is double teamed, there is nowhere to throw the ball.  I don’t believe another team in the state, especially 5A, could have done what Picayune did.  Overall, this was a great year for Gautier and 5A football, in general.  Good luck to Picayune next weekend.  I believe you have another trophy heading your way.

In my opinion, it was more about how Gautier had circles coached around them. Picayune came out in a different look and it appeared Gautier had no answer/adjustment for it offensively. The offensive line looked awful. Big and slow. So Picayune was able to pressure with 3. When Gautier did try and run, they could not block and so there was no run game at all. Gautier did not look prepared at all to me. Defensively, they just got ground down and Picayune took them to the wood shed. Gautier probably will no be in this position for a while so I hate they could not get it done. Irving is a special player!
