Itfitz
Neshoba @ West Point: Rematch of Last Year’s 5A North Half Championship I know WP has been penciled in to play Vicksburg next week for the North Half Championship. Neshoba should not just be written off. NC had the best defense it has ever fielded last season but lost a lot of seniors. It took a while for the defense to gel, but they are playing pretty dang good football right now. Their only district loss was to Vicksburg and it was only 6-0 with a little over a minute left in the game. The offense has had to replace the QB and 3 receivers that have been playing on Saturdays so both sides of the ball has had a lot of changes since last year. The coaching staff at NC has done a great job over the last few years of adjusting to the players/talent that they have. Arguably one of the best staffs in the state. NC has not played a game against any one this season where the other team didn’t have a more athletic team, or where the D line did not dwarf NC’s O-line. (You want find more fight in any line I’ve seen). Flashback to last year’s game. One of several plays could have changed the outcome and sent NC to play Picayune in the SC. 1. WP scored on a play where runner was down, no whistle but defense stopped because he was clearly down. (Photos show that it would have been overturned on Saturdays) 2. NC immediately drives down the field and scores on a QB run with a questionable hold called on the WR. 3. NC missed FG that could have changed momentum and later change to where they needed a field goal to tie. 4. Blown coverage on TE on WP last TD. There were clock issue questions at the end of the game that may have also cost NC a play, but NC had also used a couple of timeouts for alignment issues that they probably would have loved to have had back. I know that WP is favored by most everybody to win this game, but with “decent” officiating, I think NC has a chance to win, but will at least give them a hell of a game. maroontide06
Ain't nobody forgot this game, it's just that Neshoba hasn't done anything to change the narrative when these two teams meet in the playoffs. Until that narrative changes folks will just keep penciling in West Point as the winner and it hasn't failed yet. If Neshoba can give West Point a game, then that will be well worth the price of admission. Hopefully that game up there tonight will be a barn burner. Itfitz
West Point 34-33. NC went for 2 point conversion to try to take the lead. Heck of a game.

That definitely was a game. It’s a shame that Neshoba ended up on the wrong end of the deal again. That definitely wasn’t a wrong call though. They certainly did that.
Itfitz
I can take a loss like that a hell of a lot easier than the one last year when it felt like the officials stole it from us
