BubbaJ
Close game. Defensive battle most likely. Think Stone could really shock everyone this year. They have the team to do so. #7 can take over a game.

I had the chance to go see them play Purvis this year and that offense that they run is very fun to watch. Coach Beech has done an excellent job there and Coach Feaster is doing a great job at Stone. This should be a great game to watch because both coaches like to run the football. If I had to pick a winner in this game I would go with Poplarville simply because the vintage offense that they run is so difficult to stop and they run it to near perfection. It wouldn’t surprise me either if Stone were to win this one as well because they’ve got a great football team this year. Unfortunately there will be an outstanding football team sitting at home after this game on Friday.
FBdude
Stone barely got past North Pike. I Think Poplarville rolls in this one. I don’t think either of the 4A south games will be close this week. Both Pop and Mendenhall have been here and played in these big games while the other two rarely get out of the 1st round. Stone County had a really bad game against N. Pike - held NP to under 100 total offensive yards but let them stick around with interceptions and uncharacteristic OL play (13 sacks). Most teams have an aberrant game now and then & last week was sure enough one of those for the Tomcats. Hopefully they play a better game with Poplarville, or it won't be pretty.
