I didn’t watch the EMCC game but I did watch the Jones game and yea DJ didn’t look too great. He needs to improve on his decision making whether it’s knowing when to give it off on jet sweeps instead of pulling it away and taking it himself and also knowing when to not just toss it up in double coverage. He’s got all the attributes to be a great QB but still has things to improve on. I’ll chalk that one up to being first game.

Well #74 Preston Wood is a returning 2A all state first team OL so at this point the back and forth is just two teams fans going at each other cuz the kid is obviously good at his position. It’s hard to tell if he does have any offers at the moment cuz he’s not in any of the recruiting databases.

I just can’t see Oak Grove’s defense only giving up 21 to Hoover on the road and giving up more to MRA at home. Hoover’s offense is better than MRA’s. I think Oak Grove got their hiccup out of the way last Friday after coming off a huge win and will be on a mission this week. Defensively I watched a Pulaski QB move the ball up and down the field with a cinder block like cast on his hand while also missing passes on wide open long balls that I don’t think Maddox misses. Not to take MRA likely cuz I do think they’re a very good team I just don’t think they have enough to keep up with Oak Grove if Oak Grove plays up to their full potential.

I’ve never really been impressed with Arkansas football. It’s basically the Little Rock area schools and not much after that.

No matter how much MRA’s secondary has improved over the year I still can’t get past them getting dominated by Parklane’s Brewer Carruth in game one.

When this game was announced I immediately said Maddox would throw for 300+ and 4TD’s against MRA’s biggest weakness on their defense. I still feel that way.

I have mixed feelings about this game. To me it all boils down to how does MRA come out. If they come out fired up with no jitters then I think this will be a game. If they come out with butterflies it could get out of hand quickly. If that makes sense lol

Being from the north I don’t follow this rivalry too much but I do miss seeing the back and forth on here from back in the day. Crazy how it’s gone to not even having a thread about it.

So no Ridge either. That’s another pretty big loss on defense cuz he’s one of their best flys to the ball tacklers. It’s hard to get a gauge on Clarkdale without having seen them play this year and only looking at box scores but I did suspect them to be down this year with what they lost. It showed last week with their loss to Forest who they dominated 49-0 last year. I too am surprised at the final score in their game against West Lauderdale. They have def played the more difficult schedule thus far when you add in a Choctaw County team that is one of the best in 3A.

Who was the other player? We know we won’t get that kind info from EBF.
