Same as Region 3 could be George County, Vancleave or West Harrison but who knows. All 3 can score but need to get better on the other side of the ball)

Region 3 5A 1. West Jones (not much coming out of SoSo sneaky quiet and thats scary) 2. Wayne County (young and well coached) 3. Laurel (defense struggling but they will get better they always do) 4. Anybody's guess Florence, Htown, Ole Brook who knows I think you could have one of those crazy tie breakers again. I think in the last week last year Htown had a chance to be 1seed 4seed or miss all together. I like Htown to move up if healthy.

Vancleave would struggle against Gulfport, Diberville, JDC, and Poplarville. So to answer question A that would be a no. No comment on question B but that is why they play the games. We will know around 9:30 Friday night.

I would be leery about comparing Hancock's running game to Picayune's. However stranger things have happened and that's why they play.

Vancleave has not played a team with a power running game. Picayune pulls away in the second half. Picayune's real test will come against a feisty East Centrol Hornets team.

I have been saying Poplarville for weeks now. Great D and a clock eating power run game.

I think you nailed it especially with the first 3. After those first 3 who knows. I still say any of those teams flying low under the radar like a West Jones, Vancleave, or a Wayne County can get hot and make a run. Wayne County and West Jones have that kind of pedigree. I still say West Point and Laurel will make noise and will make life difficult for their opponents. It starts this week.

Good luck to Ridgeland stopping some of the backwards behind the times teams from the south. Of course there is a lot of football left and they have to get through the potential minefield of the north state.

I hear Ridgeland has a great passing attack, wonder how they will match up against a more physical team in the cooler temperatures come playoff time?

I think Poplarville is better than #5 but that is some quality teams ahead them. Poplarville vs. Columbia will be a battle later on in district play.

East Central will beat Gautier because they will be more physical. In all likelihood East Central will be slotted in 2nd seed in 5A region 4.

Yeah I miss read I like Poplarville.

I will take JDC, as Ric Flair used to say you have to beat the man to be the man.

I watched JDC last week and they ain't bad it will take a good defense and offense to keep them out of the championship game.
