Do they have to make a decision on the punishments before Friday ?

Shouldn’t the schools or MS dept of education be involved in upholding a condict standard as opposed to the MHSAA who have no control over the employees of a district . People don’t listen until you involve a paycheck

I don't think it will determine who wins the region but it will put the winner in the playoffs barring a collapse. Pascagoula 's defense is going to give the spread teams in the region fits and if the spread team isn't strong on defense will likely beat them.

No matter the expectations the first time you lose you have failed. And in the eyes of many in the current environment that we live in, you are not worthy to have that job anymore. If you get forced out, you don’t have a buyout like the millionaires at the next level. Rather you have to move and take on the expense of doing it. I know more than anyone that some aren’t coaching material and need to be sorted out, but there needs to be some remedy for that position because it carries more risk of being terminated than being in the classroom does. A few thoughts as region play gets cranked up. How do ya’ll feel about going into your region games ? Happy, Confident , Waiting on the playoffs ? This week there are so many good opening games I haven’t kept up with what’s the expectation levels. Maybe discuss what your gut tells you is going to happen Wayne County hasn’t really won a game. Winfield but I don’t really count that. And two of the games they missed a two point conversion that would have won with virtually no time on the clock. The glaring loss was the second week in a row that they had to ride to Jackson and they faced Northwestst Rankin . Unforced turnovers and penalties in the red zone pretty much derailed that one in the first quarter. They were right there with West Jones too at the end. So I am hopeful, the same as I was before they played the first game. I told someone ,not naming names , they know who they are , that West Jones wos my favorite for the south title after they lost the laurel . They didn’t agree. I stand by that. No crow Bo’s Crow It’s a good time to go ahead and eat this one. My friend Bo and I disagreed about Morgan being a viable coach at Starkville. I prefer to let sleeping dogs lie on how he got there. Starkville is a legit contender already and that’s saying a lot on where they were last year. I judged that incorrectly eSo I’m eating it. Instantly I though why is someone like him even playing ? He’s one step away from seeing it vanish. It’s horrible to think about but it’s a valid question . There are a whole lot of problems for HS football we haven’t even thought about with all this money being thrown around. The cream of the crop are going to start skipping parts of seasons or whole seasons entirely to minimize risk. Sadly there is nothing anyone can do to avoid it. The whole HS scene is disappearing rapidly. I never saw this coming ten years ago. Fighting The MHSAA has to come down hard on these schools that are involved in it. Look into it thoroughly and hammer the ones who initiate it. These games have to kept safe and having an angry mob of people is a dangerous thing. Start with suspensions and go from there. I didn’t really discuss any games here this week . I would like to see some of the the results of these region openers before diving in. Although if anyone wants to drop in intrigue about one feel free. Waiting on this Friday.

You can't say everything has went Petal's way after tonight. They had to take the game back twice and responded. That defense though oof. WJ had them with their tongue s hanging out but just didn't have the running game to finish. The game swung on Lindsey having to throw when Pierson didn't want to but had to do it.

You can't really refute it. I was never a fan of Vance's antics but just because of that doesn't mean he can't coach. I asked about it in the opening and got an answer. I don't know about it's validity but it's how I imagined it would be. Neither really were at fault but were goaded into it all week . Both came in expecting a bum rush. He said she said. Vance has got Meridian on the come up. They are scoring some points and Vance is going to have a defense always. Just bring the same intensity against Petal. Meridian deserves to win that and Petal deserves to lose just leave it at that. That's one I'm circling . Hattiesburg on the other hand has never really got on their feet so far with district looming.

I could see West and Petal not even playing. Petal hasn't face any adversity so far this season. Every, bounce, penalty and lightning strike has went in their favor. I don't know how much longer Marcus can scheme around their defensive deficiency though. The situation is coming where the offense will be stymied and it's going to hurt in these games coming up .

A school doesn't go from always mid to an annual favorite for multiple years straight without a generational coach or doing something others are not. Schedules getting close to region games. It’s not easy to keep up with who is playing who. Gulfport shows a region game this Friday while Petal plays a non region with West Jones. Do they play more region games on the coast this week and no where else ? Why ? The drive by media for HS football are salivating all over Tupelo again this season. The worst kept secret in the state is how they have recruited their way to beating up on HS kids with selected players who they let go to school there from other districts. That’s even if they go to school there and not just show up to play football. They might as well do it because it looks they have the green light to do whatever they want concerning it..Why won’t someone call them out over it media wise ? Cowards, it won’t come back on you . They know they cheat. Tupelo was lower middle in football up until about what five, six, seven years ago now they are are perennial favorites. Holy jesus it’s a miracle. Their hard work has just paid off , eh ? Media and MHSAA are jokes in this situation and are inept to deal with it. Tupelo and your supporters you lie to yourself if you stick your chest out . Dirty program and dirty administration . Who’s gaining from this propped up crap ? Brookhaven I’m really tired of hearing about . They have won thirteen or fourteen in a row . I hope the streak continues through the regular season because about fifteen games is usually where HS teams in this state top out at before it gets broken. Meaning someone will get them in the playoffs. They go to Laurel in the first game of the region. So they could be on the clock now. Lose one and it will put them on the road in the playoffs. I would love for your out of state arse to have to come to Waynesboro . I say out of state because it may as well be that way. It’s so dam far out of the way that the other regions have to be scrambled to accommodate for their isolated location. Wayne Academy traveled to a private school in Baton Rouge last season all the way from Waynesboro after having to agree to a home at home with them. Surprise surprise, they called last week and told Wayne Academy that they had several sick players and wasn’t gonna be able to play the game. Mississippi schools quit having anything to do with Louisiana athletics. They destroyed their system and if you keep letting them rub up against their athletics in this state they’ll destroy it too. I really hope we can get a weekly region schedule going. It’s getting hard to keep up with games that are on the horizon that some may would like to attend. Hattiesburg people how do you guys feel about Vance now? Y’all used to wonder and get your feathers ruffled when the rest of us would complain about him. Now you can see what everybody else was seeing at that time. Could somebody give us an update on what happened to get Lacey so riled. I didn’t think at the time that Tony resigned behind the scenes he was forced out.. The route tree and quarterback play last season shows that whoever forced him out did the right thing. Y’all wasted a lot of good players with that Charleston offense he was trying to run. Lacey is a class act in a respectful dude. Y’all should try to hang onto him and more importantly learn from him. He knows how to treat the game. How did a team fall from grace the way Columbia did? The word has always been they had a great coach. Maybe he’s just using this early schedule to figure out what he’s got and he’s about to show us something. I haven’t seen them play, but people who have say that doesn’t look like the case. In any event, Poplarville is coming for the rent. They don’t want cash you’re not getting a receipt and they may want a deposit for the next time. I wish the 4A title game was down here somewhere this season instead pf in the middle of the Noxubee refuge. That way people besides the fans of each team could go see it. Those games shouldn’t go any further north than interstate 20. If that offend some then so be it. They are better in Hattiesburg that’s been proven over the last 10 years. I used to scoff at the Meridian people saying to hold them at Ray Stadium. I’m starting to rethink that. Fix something in Jackson Rotate the event between Meridian Jackson Hattiesburg. Everybody could drive to those. Having them in places that 10 minutes after you leave the stadium you won’t see another street light for the next 2 1/2 hours. Everybody likes it better down here. The people that are griping about Tracey Lampley I have thing thing to get across to you, Where were ya'll when Hathorne and the skidder tire man were running kids away from football in droves. If you can' see how hard your kids compete now you can't be helped or pleased. All these freshman and sophomores getting on the field would be ran out of the building by now. Ya'll can either get on board or get behind . You can feel the energy again. Go sit and watch

When did the pipeline of beast tail backs dry up in Picayune ? For dam near thirty years there was always one waiting in the wings. To me that system has always went through one of them. So close but the real season starts in two weeks. The offense is almost there. They are catching the ball much better. The defense still needs work but a lot of young players are getting worked in. It looked like twenty years ago watching West running that designed cut back . It's nice to see it honestly. My head is still ringing from the jug shaking right next me. I hven't seen or heard a crowd like that since before Hathorne killed the spirit of the program. It wasn't a dirty played game . Just two teams going at each other hard. Busting up that region that had West and WC in it then going to seven classes pretty much set this rivalry into a death march. We don't really have one anymore
