Yeah they have a few home grown guys coaching and I consider them friends and wish them well just not in this game lol. They also have a few kids that transferred from WC during the coaching charge.

I believe the Wayne County/Quitman game will be closer as well. Especially after WC had to cancel their jamboree and didn’t get any game time with a new coach and coaches bringing in a new system.

WC will take their young War Eagles 28 miles north to play a Quitman team that will be pretty good. They are loaded with former WC coaches and a few players as well. Former WC head coach Shelton Gandy is now offensive Coordinator and former a WC player is their head coach.

Popularville came to Wayne County Tonight and left with an impressive win. WC was short handed on both sides of the ball. But even at 100% they would not have won this one. You can tell WC is a team in transition they will be better the next time they play.

I was thinking we were there the same year r

Wayne County played in the Red Carpet Bowl at Warren Central probably 2015 or 16. We had the late game and that night it was midnight when we finished the game and still had almost a three hour ride. I know this is different circumstances than a regular season game but you have to figure safety in at some point to.

I’ve made every trip WC has made. You know Natchez always has some of the best looking athletes. I keeping saying one day they’re going to put it together.

Vott I heard it pt like this once. We are 12 miles from the Al state line and Natchez is on the La line. So we open the gate to Ms and close the gate to Ms lol. It’s a helluva drive.

The new coaches son was his QB last season and went 10-2. So he knows his offense and he’s been under the lights. I will say the lights in south 5A are much brighter. But if he winds up the starting QB he has experience. Sebastian Chaffin I will be a senior he was the starting QB at WC last season. They also have a very talented QB who will be a Sophomore next season. The question will be the scheme and how the kids buy in. I believe they are buying in just fine.

Coach Hankins got a new group of up coming freshman started with spring training yesterday. He had about 51 kids who will be moving up to the high school In the fall. That’s about the usual number of kids that actually are able to go through the spring. He will pick up a few during the fall. This is a good class of kids and so will next season’s group be. We are all excited to get football started at WC.

I believe Corey Reynolds was OC well bottom line was Marcus was OC lol. Jay was a position coach I’m pretty sure. When Jay and his Dad Were at WC they were co Offensive Co OCs. Jay has a very good grasp of the offensive side of the ball. With the talent at Taylorsville he will do good.

Eagle you and I have been around this site for years. We had a mutual friend in Oldtiger. Sadly he passed away several years ago. I had the chance to meet Bobby a couple of times. Me being from South Ms and him from the North it took planning but we worked it out. He was a great guy, my mom was battling cancer and never had met him. He found out and called me we were actually at the dr for some test but he had to talk to mom. That stays with me I miss ole Bobby

That’s going to be an awesome stadium. I’ve been watching some updates on channel 7. The community should be very proud

We played Mize in the early 80’s what I remember was the crown of the field. But they were some good teams back then

I was in high school at the same time. Never played against him but saw him play. Until this day and I’ve watched a lot of high school football and great players. He is with out question the best I’ve see. He was a man among kids, that size to go with his speed was unreal.

We will call Perfect Car Care and have them clean it and send the bill to the former superintendent lol

Cutcliff has done a great job there. I would not be surprised to see Oxford/OG again the first week of December

I may be in the minority here but I believe that baseball is the one sport that private schools can hold their own regardless of classification. They can complete in football but not at the higher classification. When the public schools field teams with 75-100 players depth takes over. I remember a few years ago Bassfield had OG on the ropes in the third quarter. Then the numbers just took over.

Wasn’t Oxford fairly young?

Wayne County has very nice facilities they are 5A

Pascagoula will be tougher than you think. They have a very good dual threat QB in Parnell and he’s surrounded with good skilled players. They are yong but experienced Parnell has been starting since his Freshman year.

WAR EAGLE FOOTBALL 2021 Schedule Updated 8/20 Jamboree Meridian and Ocean Springs 8/28 At Quitman 9/3 At Oak Grove 9/10 Open 9/17 Pascagoula 9/24 South Jones 10/1 At Florence 10/8 Brookhaven 10/15 At Natchez 10/22 Hattiesburg 10/29 At Laurel 11/5 West Jones

WABO1 I think slicklizard needs to bring the bus out of retirement from the old MST lol

Ocean Springs.... they go all over and play Al, Fl, La, Tx according to MaxPreps. I had never heard of them myself
