as to this game, I'm going with West Jones. The Laurel and Northeast Jones victories may not have seemed impressive score-wise, but I have seen some areas where West will be more effective, specifically on offense and the passing game. Last year, it was more or less, hand it to the 230 lb running back. QB Lindsey was either out or playing with a bum arm and couldn't throw it 15 yards. Not the case this year. And West coaches are notorious for holding back plays and formations early in the year, until they need them later, and also limiting Lindsey from running to prevent an injury. Defense does have some new faces, but also some veterans, so I expect them to only improve, barring injury.

It will still be a happy time, until Dec.4th and 7:31pm

This should be a pretty good game. If South Jones can pull off a win, I think we must consider them along with Brookhaven, as possible 5A South favorites to be the sacrificial lamb for West Point in December.

They could. Last time they did it was in 2016 and that followed a win also in 2015. Before that, it was back to 2000. So, it seems to happen every 10 or 15 years. I was surprised how bad South beat George County last week.

Chunky’s right. I saw the 2nd half. Enterprise up 16 12. Stringer has a big back they were running between the tackles and a smaller very quick back outside. Enterprise couldn’t get the big one on the ground and couldn’t catch the smaller one. I think they got tired too. That was the difference.

USM vs MIss State. Going with State here. I think USM will need some turnovers and short fields to stay in it, BUT If it happens to be tied or USM up at the half, MState will be in a danger zone. USM could not stop hardly anyone last year, so if State takes care of the ball, their size advantage should prevail here. Clemson vs LSU. I will be rooting for the Tigers (..uh LSU), but I think Clemson wins. Their Oline and Dline may both be better and Klubnik is coming off of a really strong year. To go into week 1, in that environment and win, I think it starts with defense, and Kelly has not impressed me yet on that side of the ball. Ohio State vs Texas. I think Texas will pull the upset here. Ohio State lost a lot. Even though Manning only started 3 games, he's been there for 2 years. Manning may not light the world on fire (yet) , but I don't feel he will be the reason if they lose.
