Not what I’ve heard…
-
So those championship coaches couldn’t coach up the players they had? They just went and bought some talent?
-
Technically, any school could play 8 Man. However, starting next realignment, the MAIS passed a rule stating if you have more than 50 boys 8th thru 11th that you are not eligible for the 8 Man championship.
-
Anyone heard anything on Greenville Christian? They picked up anything?
-
MAIS teams begin practice tomorrow.
-
Washington picked up a large OL/DL from Simmons that will be a huge help.
-
Nobody comes within 14 points of Louisville this year.
-
But we’re talking about football so total enrollment is irrelevant.
-
They do for football, have been doing it for a while now.
-
Last count, Parklane had 135 boys 8th to 11th, tied with Starkville for the largest 5A in football.
-
Somebody else can do those.
-
If they have 160 boys 8th - 11th, they’ll be 6A.
-
Only one of their 6 wins was vs a team with a winning record. Total wins of the 6 teams they beat = 11. They were also Richton’s only win of the year. I’ll stick with my original statement that they were awful last year. Edit: They have definitely picked up some new recruits. Won’t be the same team as last year. Bowling Green showed you just need 1 good recruit to make a difference, but they still couldn’t win it.

Heritage Christian has a chance to make it to 11 man and I think eventually be competitive. Christ Covenant will stay 8 Man. Already a feeder school for Prep. Regents will be like Heritage Christian.
-
Not a smart scheduling decision by GCS. But their coaches have burned many bridges and no one wants to play them.
-
Yep, he’s hit the high school transfer portal hard. They were awful last year.

Rumor is they will be going to a classification similar to when they AAA-1 and AAA-2.
-
Looks like the school is not far from closing.
-
Hartfield has expanded its recruiting territory to Vicksburg area. Picked up one of Warren Central’s best athletes.
-
Holmes County has one of the most talented teams. Every year like clockwork, they get out coached in the playoffs. Talent only takes you so far.
-
Sounds like Breland has a completely new team and should easily win State.

Anymore kids left for the academy?
