Depends on the petal game. They win that, then everyone will know.
-
Nobody will want to go watch a game in Jackson. They will do it, but they won’t want to do it.
-
They were supposed to release all the other rankings and stuff today but I guess they are waiting until tonight?
-
There will be no merger, at least for now. Anything is possible of course, but the dynamics of the organizations and member schools does not lend itself to a clean merger involving all members.
-
I dont think fans of whatever team they support are hesitant of coming to watch in game in the metro area of Jackson. I know I am not.
- Today
-
Nothing really I am just saying you have to put yourself in some people's cleats to understand they might not be ready to play at Provine or Forest Hill due to the happenings of the last 35 years of crime. They can't even protect cars at JSU game. But when Hartfield, Prep, or MRA get put in Eegion 2 5A expect to play some of the current metro area MHSAA schools. One of the reasons some will bulk on a complete merger.
-
I have rosa fort going 5-5 with region wins over ripley and byhalia and finish 3rd and face either new albany or corinth in the first round. shannon could possibly, with a good bit of luck finish with a 8-2 record but still not be worthy of being mentioned in a sentence with kosy and louisville. shannon can win their region and win round 1 and then face clarksdale or senatobia in round 2. round 3 would be kosy or louisville.
-
I fully expect that to be the North Half.
-
Kosciusko took a BIG hit on the defensive side of ball think their offense will be fine as for Louisville they return the whole defensive front from last year. Turner and Coleman going be something serious to deal with. Its looking like Louisville is shaping up to have a 3 HEADED MONSTER in the backfield. We will probably be seeing 2 games again this fall with Louisville vs Kosciusko
-
highly doubtful just looking at the roster. go ahead and add them to the list of team who will not challenge kosy or louisville.
-
What does playing Jackson schools have to do with playing at a neutral site?
-
Probably will never be neutral site games. But there are some current 4A schools probably moving to 5A under 8 classes playing some Jackson schools.
-
Rosa Fort and 4A north might not be that very strong this year like it was last 2 years
-
Why would you want to lose a home game and play at a neutral site? You play at a neutral site then after you pay the cost to rent the field and pay their people who provide security among other things, you end up losing money
-
I have no information anywhere near anything saying that shannon will even be close to the 3rd best 4 a team in the north. provide some info on their personnel as it related to who all they lost from the team last year. Iahs will be improved simply due to being young last year and I hope that shannon is better than houston but am not sure so saying all that, I doubt any team in their region comes close to the 3rd best team in the north. Corinth mite be the best team in the north not called kosy or louisville simply due to returning talent. New Albany will be okay but lost a 4* OT and a 4 yr starting QB and then you have possibly senatobia. other than the teams I just mentioned, there are no others who are really very good at all.
-
Shannon will be in the mix with them teams
-
D'Iberville will definitely fly under most radars, but I promise they will be in the mix when it all clears imo.
-
Been told they may not be as good to start the season. Their RB is back but some new kids are going to have step up.
-
I think this may have started out with a question of why did you take PCS. It turned into a split down discussion. Then the Florida Alabama Georgia thing comes up. Now we have to discuss keeping private schools south of Hattiesburg in our associations. Maybe it turned into a merger maybe a scheduling agreement which I can see happening. Maybe the multiplier goes away in a complete merger maybe it is negotiated down. If and whatever the outcome a merger is going to be interesting in the classes: 7 or 8, # per region, 8 man, etc. Then the scheduling next year. Lots of discussion. If your Tri County and your in a region with Mize don't be scared to come on down to Sullivan's Hollow on the hill. If your Starkville Academy and your 5A at Provine come on down or let's have a neutral game at East Central or somewhere. A merger has to all in or else. It will take some getting use to.
-
A pretty significant portion of their defensive production and a few offensive weapons. However, they will probably have the best player on the field in almost every game they play in the regular season at Quarterback for them so they should be fine.
-
They don’t seem to be as high on Diberville as other rankings are. What all did diberville lose from last season?
-
You may be right, but I find that hard to believe. To begin with MHSAA schools aren't going to want a merger without a multiplier for the private schools. And I'm sure that's just one of many sticking points between the two that will be an issue.
-
From the start of these rumors, I felt the same way. I do not really see what they specifically would benefit from in moving to MHSAA. Would they get more money from gates, etc.? I also do not see the MHSAA letting MRA, Prep, etc. compete in 3A with numbers and talent pool good enough to compete and win higher classifications.
