Is Bay that bad to lose by 28 to Long Beach? LOL

    Coast Pick 'em

Laurel is not bad at all. Their OLine is not that strong. But they got athletes all over the place. I would not be shocked to see Laurel within 7-10pts at the half.
  4. OS needs Pascagoula to beat itself -- which is possible given they had over 100 yards in penalties (mostly pre-snap) against Biloxi. I think Coach Green corrected that Monday and Pascagoula wins.
  5. that was very shocking Biggersville lost to Tish and Biggersville haven't never lost to Tish till last Friday look like Biggersville didn't respect Tish and unmentally prepared
  6. Columbia should be favored over everyone except petal and poplarville
  7. I think Laurel may give them a little more than expected but you have seen Gpt so I can easily see your point
  8. Today
  9. Fat fingers but also technically not wrong either. I don’t know ****. lol
  10. What little bit I saw of Columbia against Hancock in the jamboree before the lightning shut it down, they didn't look bad. If they are down this year, it was difficult to gauge it based off of what I saw.
  11. I tend to think Gulfport might win this one by more than 14.
  12. Yes they are improved a little. Will still beat Harr Central, West Harr, and maybe OS or Biloxi this year. They could sneak into the #4 seed if the ball bounces right for them
  13. Gulfport/ Laurel ? And is St Martin better than they have been lately ?
  14. Biloxi v Picayune- Picayune by 14 OS v Pascagoula - I'm tentatively going Goula but wary of it D'Iberville v Seminary- Walley by 21 Harrison Central v Tylertown- Harr Central takes this Long Beach v Bay - Long Beach by 28 Hancock v Poplarville- Poplarville by 21 Pass Christian v PCS- probably best game of the week. I think Pass takes this high scoring event St Patrick v Amite School Center St Pat takes this and gets on 3 game roll as their three opponents are terrible Resurrection v Amite County- Amite by 40+ East Central v PRC- PRC by 21 Vancleave v FCAHS- good game I hope Vancleave can pull it out St Martin V Stone- St Martin by 21 Moss Point v Stanislaus- Stanislaus by 21 Gautier v West Harrison- Gators by 14 or more CCA v Bowling Green- Bowling Green by 28 Amended Gulfport v Laurel- Gulfport by 14 Thanks Slick Did I leave any off?
  15. I’m not sure what to make of Minnesota’s offense. I like several of the pieces, including the QB and RB, but they were an awful offense a year ago, and didn’t run the ball efficiently against Eastern Illinois in Week 1. My fear would be the run the ball just well enough and can utilize their QB in play action situations, and that could give State trouble. I too worry about State’s DL and the ability to generate pressure. I like the LB’s and secondary but if State can’t force some negative plays, Minnesota is going to try to keep the ball for 45 minutes of the game.
  16. East Webster will have a running clock on Biggersville. Tish county beat Biggersville 56-7 last week.
  17. Week 3 Preview from the Varsity Voices Podcast On this episode, the guys preview the state's big matchups this weekend like: Brandon vs Clinton Warren Central vs Germantown Hattiesburg vs Oak Grove West Point vs Noxubee PCS vs Pass Christian East Webster vs Biggersville
  18. 10 years ago State was littered with stud homegrown defensive linemen. Now it’s our weakness. Stylistically we don’t match up well with Minnesota defensively unless Arnett has some secret sauce
  19. I get that view point but I can't get on board with it. I've got a solution for that too. Let them play some of their regions or class twice or three times if in the playoffs. Before going running hat in hand begging to let us play against your bused in kids. What if MHSAA is planning on filling out some of those classes with private schools at some point behind the scenes ? If you remember I brought this up back in the summer and pretty much everyone thought it was because of more playoff gate. I thought at the time there was more to it but didn't say anything. The man who Wayne County just ran off was a big part of that instituting more classes, He also likes to run his mouth. Just sayin
  20. Tell that part about playing two or three classes up to Brookhaven. Rules man. Rules You assume what I mean when you mentioned IMG, Mater Dei. I assume your position comes from that of someone associated with a private school. Are Tupelo. Brandon, etc governed the same as someone like Simmons ? Is MRA governed by the same rules as far as limiting what players can play based on residence ? If it's different then that's a loophole than can be exploited. That's the sticking point . No getting around it. It may not be that big of a deal now but sometime in the near future it will. In some cases it's getting there now. If the entities aren't brought in together under the same guidelines(which. private schools will never agree to) let me tell you what's going to happen next. Some parents are going to start complaining . Legal counsel is going to get involved and next thing thing you know our high school athletics system will look like Louisiana's. It's destroyed and a joke Things aren't like they were even ten years ago. MHSAA is sitting on their hands and not adapting. Separate them now and let them go their own ways with their own guidelines. Even if MHSAA has to create a whole new division just to handle private,
  21. I didn't see this thread it belongs here I have watched a little of petal this season. .Petal will score. Coach Boyles is gonna do that even he has to leave the defense withnot really that much to play with. That seems to be the case of yet another season. I don’t know a thing about Columbia. I know they are defending champ. If their offense, can’t put up some points against the red panther defense that’s not a good sign.
  22. Let's go back to 6 or 7 schools per region in 1A-4A and i think you eliminate open dates by the time you play your non region rivalry games. Otherwise you have coach Higdon hanging on to playing D'Iberville and whomever he get to replace Forest in an open date situation. Perhaps if we might be fortunate to play Seminary and JDC in non region should they get stuck back in Region 8. Especially if the 1.5 multiplier bumps up PCS, St Patrick, and St Andrew's to 4A or 5A. I expect 3A schools will shift to the south some degree. It wouldn't surprise me that we end up with Louisville, Noxubee, or Yazoo County wilk shift south. 1A should stay 4 regions instead of 8. The coaches are forcing themselves with 7 classes to play larger schools. Honestly 8 regions in 7 classes leaves 1 school with an open every week per class. So if PCS has to play Columbia Academy in week one or Mobile Christian like this year then it is because of 7 classes. Higdon called 3 coaches with open dates October 9th after Forest pulled out. No one wanted to play Raleigh. No one. If we keep trending in that direction you will continue to see Higdon and Mancuso fill their schedule with a large MAIS school. I expect the other coaches to do the same or go out of state.
  23. I like USM to cover the 32. I just think they will play well enough to do so. Auburn is coming off a very emotional win. I think they are in for a letdown. Auburn wins comfortably but it will not be a total blowout. 35-14. State-Minnesota. I am clueless here. I agree with the story line that it will most likely be State’s OL against their DL/LB’s. If they are reasonably good, I like State to win 38-28. If not, it could be a long day at the Huntington Bank Office. We will see. Texas over Ohio State 24-23 A&M wins over AZ State 26-20 KY pulls the upset over Bama and the heat turns up on DeBoar. KY 28, Bama 24. Oklahoma 40, Michigan 6. Missouri 17, Kansas 15. Utah 38, Arkansas 14 Ole Miss 40, Charlotte 10 Tennessee 34, Georgia Tech 10 LSU 20, LA Tech 14 (Officials add a second on to the clock at the end to give LSU one extra play. They score on a Hail Mary pass to win the game!!! LA Tech joins Western Michigan in a class action suit against GST (Game Saving Time).
  24. So how people have always said when smaller schools schedule schools that are 2 to 3 classes above them it’s to prepare them for region play and playoffs, that’s not actually making them better? Should lower class schools stop scheduling higher class schools? I think your comment is a bit of a knee jerk reaction. Almost every year, teams like Tupelo, Oak Grove, Brandon just to name a few will field more future college players than any of the MAIS schools. Teams like JA this year come around every so often like Greenville Christian a few years ago which was a different circumstance and even that team which as of now is the best MAIS school of all time had a battle with Oak Grove. Just this year MRA/JDC was a dang good game and was nothing like 9th/10th graders playing junior college players. Same with Columbia/Hartfield. Those are 2 of the big 4 MAIS schools and I would think of those as 2 good 4A schools rather than junior colleges. You talk as if these schools are like IMG, Bishop Gorman or Mater Dei when in all actuality they may only have 3 or 4 guys that aren’t home grown.
  25. Wammie you know the country isn’t going to give us any respect even if Louisville rubs the floor with JC which I personally hope happens.
  26. I have been hearing this a lot and given history Seminary fields a heck of a football team.
