I was pretty done with Saban last year when he said Ole Miss should allow Lane to coach the playoffs. The same Nick Saban that didn’t allow Lane to coach Alabama in the natty because Lane had accepted another job. Sexton tells his clients what to say and they say it.

The ideal set up would be 4 football and 2 or 3 non football in a region due to the fact that you have 47 schools in 1A. The non football schools in 1A NE Mississippi have to be divided evenly between Regions 1, 2, and 3 or between 1 and 2 just to get maybe 3 or 4 football playing schools in a region.

It went downhill years ago once Corso’s health started to decline and once Herbstreit revealed his true colors. But McAfee took it a big step in the wrong direction. Another little thing but I think Chris Fowler was better as the host than Rece Davis is. I generally like Rece though, mostly nostalgia from the old College Football Final days of him, Holtz, and Mark May, where it could go totally off the rails at times but was always good TV to watch late on a Saturday night or early on a Sunday morning while you’re getting ready for church. lol.

That and they make you leave the stadium and go back to your vehicle. At least if there's no issues of bad weather on Thursday, they get the game in which is what is important.

I know Jackson county has one over each school. Not sure bout Harrison county.

If Baldwyn drops to 1A it will set up an interesting possibility with the regions. You would have Biggersville, Baldwyn that play football, then Thrasher, Jumpertown, and Wheeler that do no play football. That would be the ideal 5 team region, but there's no way you can put on 2 football schools in a region. It will be interesting to see how they divide things. Two years ago when Baldwyn won in1A their region was Biggersville, Thrasher, Baldwyn, TCPS, Wheeler. Thrasher has no football and TCPS will move up due to the multiplier.

I think Rankin County has like 7 asst supt of education over a specific dept.

Long Beach is on their own also. The kicker down here will always be the money/casino divide. The cities get a larger portion than the county schools according to how many are in their district. Long Beach has none so they don't receive any of that money. Jackson county has the same divide with Chevron/Ingalls. Pascagoula/Gautier gets all of that money. It will be hard to explain rolling 4A and 5A schools into districts that are already made up 6A/7A schools as cost savings. School Boards will have to expand and the Supt spot for that district would likely just become an asst under the new organization with the main Supt likely getting a pay raise. OS already has some of the highest paid Admins in the state while being on the lower end of teacher and supplement pay. Not to mention the highest cartags in the state funding the district while they constantly cry of being broke.

Long Beach do they have their own and then you have Hancock County and Waveland Bay St Louis separate. Its going to be interesting to see how they write the bill.

All the coastal counties are setup the same way. The larger city schools OS, Biloxi, Gulfport, Pascagoula/Gautier, etc are their own districts while everything else falls to one county district. East Central, Vancleave, and St. Martin under JCSD. WH, HC, and d'iberville under Harrison County.

Just saw that D'Iberville and West Harrison moved their game up to Thursday night. Cant understand why this has become a pattern now. Back in the day if it was a 90/100% chance of rain on a Friday gameday, you just went out and played as if it were a clear dry night. Teams usually enjoyed one wet muddy game before turf became a thing.

I am actually glad that SEC Nation is coming to State Saturday. They are better than Game Day and after Saban’s remark about KT1, I have don’t have much left for him.

Greenwood,Elyz & Leflore will be separated schools the next three years , as construction on the new high school has not started yet.

THLhe time to change your numbers has come gone. Waiting on MDE to certify the numbers I suppose.

New Albany has 300 acres near the current elementary school which could house a new middle school, new high school, gymnasium, football field and a track. Refer to my previous post on Ingomar, "it'll never happen". When East Union started football there was a time that players were from all the county schools( the union county band plays at east union football games) and students are from the whole county. Ingomar boys basketball complained enough to get the practice stopped due to basketball players from ingomar missing valuable time in the gym while playing football. after that, Myrtle began their own football team.
