  2. I severely doubt they lose 2 region games. Caledonia, Lafayette and columbus are weak are weak 5A teams. New Hope and Pontotoc would be competitive if they were in 4A.
  3. They very well could. They are 0-5 now. Lets just for sake of discussion they finish 3-2 in region play. Thats a 3-7 record in regular season. Then you have three rounds of playoffs. If they got on a roll in the playoffs they could go into the title game with a 6-7 overall record.
  4. Neither did Laurel, but they could very well end the regular season right at .500 overall or a game under and still be the 1 seed. That's what makes having 7 classifications a complete joke.
  5. That would be the same individual who wanted grand parents arrested for parking along the roadside while waiting to pick up children at the elementary school. He is useless but he does smile big when he thinks he's on camera.
  6. I think so too. Just the weapons they have on offense with a team that was pieced together and Tootie not even really expecting to play and he goes in there and throws 4 TD passes was just incredible. Having Sinegal and Watson there making catches just helps a whole lot. Then you got Agee at tailback. The pieces are definitely there and when they get healthier, look out.
  7. Yeah there’s part of me that wonders if State plays it safe with injuries for the LSU game so that guys can maybe be healthier by Oklahoma. Billy Puckett starting at QB in Tiger Stadium would be something else…. Although if you were around for the Croom era, you’ve seen worse.
  8. It needs to be. Taunting is at the root of dam near all of this. Their action needs to be public and highly vivsible. Going to the opponents sideline right after the horn has sounded talking smack is a recipe for disaster. The environment is already charged. I blame the DOE to a large degree for not already coming up with harsh deterrents. It's been happening for a few years now and is escalating.
  9. Today
  10. West Point will not have a losing record by the time the state championship game rolls around if they are still playing.
  11. I think they will only improve from here. People underestimate the damage a coach who can't initiate a strong culture can do in a short period of time. Pierson had a lot to do internally out of the public eye. He's starting to get it right at the time he planned on
  12. I so hope they do. That would be a direct indictment of Mississippi having 7 classes in Sports. If the shame and embarrassment of 2 losing record teams, playing for a State Championship doesn't bother MHSSA enough to do something, nothing ever will.
  13. normally those are released on thursday morning, i think.
  14. Do they have to make a decision on the punishments before Friday ?
  15. I did some Ai and US News and World Report research on numbers for those schools mentioned above for numbers reported sometime between start of school year and reclassification form time: Here is what i found and its based on those numbers and if the school is not mentioned it is staying in their current class: Moving down to 4A: Purvis, Sumrall Moving up to 4A: PCS, St Andrew's, St Patrick, St Stanislaus Moving down to 3A: South Pike, Mendenhall, Forest, Mooreville, Byhalia, Rosa Fort Moving up to 3A: North Tippah Moving down to 2A: OLA, Union, T Edwards Moving up to 2A: Vardaman, Riverside Moving down to 1A: Hatley, Hamilton, Myrtle, Leland, North Forrest At least 2 3A schools will be going to South 3A either Humphreys County and Yazoo County to region 6 or Noxubee County and Choctaw County to region 5 or 1 each to each region. SCHOOL. 2024. 2025 Mendenhall. 391. 332 Richland. 390. 332 Louisville. 371. 324 Ripley. 370. 324 S Pontotoc. 367. 356 Moss Point. 361. 343 Forest. 341. 343 Mooreville. 335. 403 Byhalia. 333 310 Amory. 332. 331 S Pike. 321. 342 4A/3A split St Patrick. 316. *226 (339) St Stanislaus. 316. *170. (340) OLA. 212. *212 (424) PCS. *256. *224 (336) Booneville. 276. 319 St Andrew's. 226. *256 (374) The above info is based on the schools currently in 4A/3A that have been mentioned moving up or down. We all know that if 7A/6A/5A ends up with 24 each 1 school will drop down out of each class. That will be a factor at the top of 4A and bottom of 4A. *US News and World Report numbers where else do we get them except from the school. (234) is the multiplier number I gave them. I am looking at ST Patrick, St Stanislaus, St Andrew's and OLA moving up. That leaves PCS on the bubble with 2025 number. That leaves appx 5 schools that will drop down. I am projecting solely based on 2025 numbers that Louisville, Ripley, Rosa Fort, Byhalia, and Amory are dropping down. Where are the kids going is the question. I suspect drop outs, transfers to another school or MAIS, or homeschooling.
  16. I think Mr Neeves is bound by the current 2026-27 handbook on discipline. If certain unnamed principals and AD's have a problem with the Handbook on discipline then they need to initiate changes at the district level. I am positive Mr Neeves may welcome.
  17. It would be which is kind of crazy, but you can kind of see the parallels to it.
  18. Would that not be the most MHSAA thing if West Point and Laurel both finished the regular season with a losing record but still made the playoffs and made it to the title game?
  19. Is West Point kind of like 2023 Laurel this year? 2023 Laurel went 1-5 before district play and ended up 8-7 after losing in the finals to West Point. Laurel set a team record of points allowed that season.
  20. I agree but do we expect Mr Neaves and his associates to divey out these type punishments?
  21. I just think some 2 or 3 step process needs to be put in place that includes annual training of coaches and players prior to the season starting like in June or July. I f you are going to throw punches and sling helmets, throw the Gatorade then you need major punishment. As a coach its trash talking that leads to cursing or running of the tongue that provokes things from the other team. Suspension doesn't work then something more permanent may be needed.
  22. State fades unless by a miracle the QB and RB bothwell are 90% by the oklahoma game. The D is riddled with injuries and has a weak front 7 which will be exposed against good teams with SEC caliber talent. I'm still not convinced Ole miss can beat mizzou or auburn at home much less georgia and texas. Bryan Brown has never been a defensive genius and pete may show us all why Saban cut him loose if we just give him time. LSU does probably make it at 9-3. Mizzou won't beat georgia or texas. The vols will crap the bed unless the QB position miraculously heals itself. Florida probably loses the 3 games you mention. Kentucky is a wild card but I agree with your assessment. The winner of the georgia at Bama game will go undefeated. The loser will only have that loss in the regular season. The only game Texas might slip up in is the game at LSU especially if its dark out.
  23. If you want to play the schedule game with all the 1 loss SEC teams: State - still has to play LSU, Texas and OM, all on the road. Playoff seems unlikely, but they’re good enough to maybe win one of those games and potentially finish with 8 or 9 wins. Ole Miss - still has to play Texas and Georgia and has to win at least one of them. Also would need to beat Mizzou and State, among others. If you made me call it today I have OM in the 8-4 or 9-3 range too. But think they’re more likely to make the Playoff than State. I can be convinced they finish 10-2 if they find some semblance of a defense, LSU - still has Bama and Texas at home, and also has State and plays Kentucky and Tennessee on the road. Can they get through all that with only losing one of those games? I’m skeptical.’ I think they finish 9-3. Mizzou - still has to travel to Oxford and Athens, and plays Texas at home. I feel like they’re losing at least 2 of those. Tennessee - probably the easiest overall remaining schedule but they still host Bama and LSU. Will have to win one of those. Florida - still has to play Texas and Georgia. Also makes a trip to Kentucky. Kentucky - they’re done playing the UGA/Bama/Texas tier but have a lot of games against that next tier still. I think they’re good but feel like more of a 7-5 or 8-4 type team at best. And that doesn’t account for the possibility that Bama, UGA, or Texas could fade at some point. But definitely feels like there will be a huge log jam of 8 or 9 win teams, and if anyone can find a way to get to 10-2 they’re a playoff lock.
  24. The MAIS Varsity Voices guys recap Week 7 and preview Week 8. This week the guys are joined by Kevin Griffin, Belhaven Blazers Softball coach, Jackson Prop color analyst, and father of Pittsburgh Pirates' Konnor Griffin.
  25. texas, georgia, bama and 2 others.......I'm not sure there are 2 more who can play consistent enough to make it
  26. Mizzou matched up well against Florida and Austin Simmons had a career day. They’re probably a #14-22 rank by the time it’s all said and done. The B tier for the SEC is stacked this year, State, Mizzou, Florida, Ole Miss, LSU, Tennessee. Going to be a blood bath in the SEC. We may have 5 teams in the playoffs this year
