  1. Past hour
  2. Yes it's new this year due to teacher shortages. I believe it's only like 30-90 days not 6 months out and draw like 60% of regular pay. I forgot the Bill # that passed
  3. That's awesome. It's those little things that really make a huge difference and it creates synergy and momentum. Glad to hear of it.
  4. Have been very impressed with the job Tracy Lampley and his staff are doing at WC. They have four losses I know all non region games. Three of those four losses are by a total of ten points a one point loss, a two point loss and a seven point loss all in the closing seconds of the games. They are scoring points and looking really good on offense. The defense is getting better every game. The work he’s doing off of the field has been really impressive as well. He’s getting the community back involved. He has different restaurants donating food for the players regularly. He has a group of people not parents that cook for the players and a group that sees that they don’t leave hungry after games on Friday nights. It may not sound like a lot but you have to know where the program has been. He is building back the booster club as well. Player are coming back out it’s different when you have someone who helped build WC . Great job and Go War Eagles!!!
  5. I honestly didn't know that. So is that like a blanket law that allows Mississippi employees to retire, come back after six months and work full time without getting penalized?
  6. Just when I thought Natchez was serious about possibly getting the no.2 seed in Region 3 5a they decided to let the real Natchez team show up vs Laurel. Over the years, I dont know how many of you have ever seen Natchez play. But when you watch them come on the field for pregame warmups and then run out of the locker room right before kickoff they look as athletic of any team I have ever seen. And then when the game begins at times it looks like they are playing football for the first time
  7. He can coach and draw retirement. I believe it’s like six months which gets him through football season. Boyles at Petal is retired
  8. New law allows him to come back without messing that up right?
  9. Today
  10. I have no problem with focusing on character instead of the baggage laden garbage you see all over. I understand your points though. I respect him for sticking to his beliefs if if true.
  11. West Point only has 2 possible wins left with Caledonia and Columbus. Heck they might struggle with Caledonia since they've won some games this year. I believe they tried to get Chambless last year from Gordo and it didn't work, so that ship has probably sailed. Once you start drawing PERS and letting the COLA compound, you really don't want to screw that up.
  12. I do not know if I were them I would move mountains to get the GOAT back in Chambliss. I believe he still lives there and is coaching in Alabama.
  13. Why do they want to go the high school route again? This isn't a high school.
  14. Maybe they can hire Jenny Craig as a dietician. At least that would be a start.
  15. What are they going to do there? Rolling Uncle Ruckus back out there is not an option I wouldn’t think.
  16. Hearing Blake Pennock is a name to keep an eye on here.
  17. North 7A - Tupelo 6A - Warren Central or Lake Cormorant ------ I only say this as a possibility because Lake Cormorant is beyond talented defensively probably second to only Tupelo and its close from a sheer talent perspective which is absolutely crazy to say considering Tupelo is a travel ball squad. Lake Cormorant rotates 6 Defensive Linemen that all look like identical twins that are 6'3-6'5 250. If you haven't seen the talent they have on the defensive side of the football it is an injustice. They have 5-6 legitimate division 1 football players anchored by 2027 Eric Vaulx DE and Rashod Bobo LB - Florida State Commit and Western Kentucky Commit respectively and 2028 Ty'Jah Brown DL - Uncommitted but holds multiple offers from SEC schools. In the 2029 class they have Jaden McGregory CB that holds Ole Miss and Arkansas offers and Khalil Sims a 6'5 240 DE with a Florida State offer). To have that much talent on one side of the football is insane! There are other players that will be recruited but are not being recruited yet. They have other players that I expect to get offers QB - Curtis Shields will be a DB at next level. Also an OLB and WR. 5A - Put name in a hat and leave West Point out. 4A - LOUISVILLE 3A - WINONA 2A - KEMPER COUNTY 1A - I have no idea
  18. The MAIS Varsity Voices guys recap Week 9 and preview Week 10.

  20. I think that may be the general consensus, but I feel like Brookhaven may be on a crash collision course with Wayne County. Natchez showed their true colors this past week against Laurel. If Natchez was as good as their record indicates, they wouldn't have lost to Laurel. For Natchez, that was a ripe apple that they needed to pick off the tree. I honestly think Wayne County is figuring things out and you can see the momentum building.
  21. Everyone up here in the north country agree with you on 7A and 6A. 5A north is still very muddled. Cleveland Central, Leake from Region 2 or could Lanier sneek in? In Region 1, My best guess is New Hope or Pontotoc but could Lafayette sneek in? I think any of these teams will lose to Brookhaven in the state final. Do most folks in the south feel like Ole Brook is the best 5A team in the south?
  22. Everyone starting to see the playoffs in the distance. Short and to the point Oak Grove is the best team in the south The last time I watched a coach fall to pieces as bad as the Brandon coach at Petal I don’t remember but I’m sure it’s happened. Vancleave doesn’t belong in 5A. I watched Kevin Fant go in and end Hattiesburg’s season a few yers ago. I thought he would be capable at a bigger school. I was wrong. He’s a poor man’s Lewis sims Seth will be a coach somewhere on the coast next season. PRC is on the verge of collapse since that debacle about Poplarville. Just sayin North Reps this season 7A Tupelo 6A Warren Central 5A ???? Hey Pine Belt social media sports guy. Quit repeating stuff I put on here Everyone have a good week
  23. Yesterday
  24. I’m surprised they didn’t let him finish out the season, but I reckon Avalon had a decision to make and wanted to start early before the carousel got in full swing. I believe they can get someone to turn it around quickly because that’s what Avalon will want.
  25. Herrington Lake is continuing to grow as a population area in Scott County their going 3A more than likely.
  26. Tennessee has the most favorable remaining schedule of any remaining playoff contender in the SEC, too. So naturally watch them lose to South Carolina this weekend.
  27. Holding Bama to 200 yards was very impressive.
